Demi Moore scored $250,000 for her anti-sex slave charity when she beat Kevin Bacon in an online charity contest.

The Ghost star, who wowed with her fashion choice at Sunday’s Oscars, won the cash for the DNA Foundation, which she founded with her husband Ashton Kutcher, in the Pepsi Refresh Celebrity Challenge.

The public placed votes in the challenge. Bacon of Mystic River fame – not to mention online social network friending site six degrees – will not go home empty-handed. His SixDegrees.org is currently raising funds for Haiti and receives a $100,000 grant.

Moore’s foundation offered the cash to the Girls Educational & Mentoring Services for female victims of sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking.

Rachel Lloyd of GEMS said the grant will “support us in the important work of transforming survivors of domestic trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation into future leaders”.

Edis Kayalar, 26, had surrendered himself to German authorities last November after being charged with attempting to extort money from Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber. Kayalar had got hold of a photo of the couple’s daughter, 7, gagged and bound to a chair.

The photo was reportedly taken by the girl’s nanny during a game of cops and robbers. Kayalar claimed he was merely attempting to warn Crawford the nanny was a bad influence.

The judge, Joachim Spieth, ruled: “The attempted extortion was at an advanced stage and failed.”

Reuters reports Crawford and Gerber had contacted authorities after Kayalar first made the claim to them last summer. Kayalar, a German, was arrested in September and deported to Germany for being in the US illegally. In November he contacted Crawford and Gerber again, demanding $100,000, which led to him being charged by Los Angeles authorities.

Mackenzie Phillips says she no longer believes that having sex with her musician father was consensual.

Phillips, 50, shocked the showbiz world when she wrote in her autobiography last year that she had a sexual relationship with John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas.

Phillips claimed in her book that it began the night before her first wedding when she was 19.

Now Phillips says has totally re-evaluated it.

“Well, you know it is a very difficult word and was a very difficult word for me to wrap my mind around when I was writing the book,” she told CNN talkshow host Larry King.

“I kept thinking ‘I am so not comfortable with this word’ as it did not seem to tell the right story.

“But for want of a better word, I used the word ‘consensual’.

“I have since been schooled by hundreds of thousands of survivors around the world and country that there is really no such thing as consensual incest.”

Asked about her half-sister Chynna Phillips, who has just been in rehab to treat anxiety, Mackenzie said: “She is doing great. She is home with her family and I feel like she did a great thing for herself and for all of us. I support her the way she supported me.”

Gisele Bundchen, 29, extolled her recent delivery of a baby as the most empowering experience of her life.

Bundchen’s delivery of Benjamin, now four months old, earlier made headlines for its reported lack of pain. Bundchen herself took to a new blog to recount the experience last December. She blogged: “Giving birth was the most intense and life-changing experience of my life. I never felt so vulnerable but so strong at the same time. When he finally was placed into my arms, I looked into his precious eyes and felt an overwhelming, unconditional love. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. ‘We did it! We did it together!’ He and I. I never felt so complete and empowered in my life.”

Contact Music reports Bundchen had the baby in the bathtub at home in the penthouse she shares with husband Tom Brady in toffy Beacon Hill, Boston. “I was able to feel safe, blessed,” she said. “I was allowing my mind and my body to let go and be free to experience the changes taking place within while surrounded by love.”

Bundchen’s natural water midwife during the birth described it as “love-assisted” and noted that contrary to initial accounts, the supermodel worked during the birth.

Simon Cowell topped Piers Morgan’s list of UK “celebrities that really matter”, beating out what he called shoals of Z-listers.

Morgan put together his top 100 roster of British celebrities that really matter for the Daily Mail newspaper. He is a journalist and former editor of News Of The World and The Daily Mirror whose ITV-1 tell-all interview with Cowell aired on the weekend.

Morgan writes: “There are thousands of ‘celebrities’ in Britain. By which I mean there are a lot of famous people. Many of whom have absolutely no right to be. Whole shoals of Z-list wannabes, scrabbling for their 15 minutes of recognition on increasingly degrading reality-TV shows, desperate for fame of any kind. So it’s time to sort the chaff from the wheat, and resolve once and for all who really counts in the world of celebrity in this country.”

He put David Beckham at No. 2, Cheryl Cole at No. 3 and Prince William at No. 4, UPI reports.

Cougar Town star Courteney Cox has opened up about marrying a younger man and said she ‘can’t imagine’ dating someone her own age.

Cox, 46, is married to husband David Arquette, 39, with whom she has a six-year-old daughter, Coco.

In reference to her new TV show, she spoke about her real-life experiences of marrying a man younger than herself.

She said: “My husband is seven years younger than me. I can’t imagine dating anyone my own age.”

Cox added: “At my age, it’s still young enough. The experience and knowledge and the overall confidence that an older woman has is attractive to younger men.”

Brown has been donated to the Smithsonian museum, RadarOnline reports in an exclusive.

The light-brown suit, patterned tie and white shirt will be donated to the prestigious museum, Judge Joseph Biderman ruled.

Simpson was also found not guilty of the murder of Brown’s friend Ronald Goldman in the longest jury trial in the history of California. The trial in the 1994 murder charge ran for nine months. A later civil trial, in 1997, found Simpson liable for damages in the wrongful deaths of Brown and Goldman.celebr

A lawyer for Goldman’s father agreed with Simpson’s team that the items would be donated as a gift in “memory of Ronald Lyle Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson”.

Simpson, who is in prison in Nevada for a separate crime, agreed to the donation.
