Ben Stiller wants Tom Cruise on board for Les Grossman movie

Actor Ben Stiller wants to get Tom Cruise on board for a new Les Grossman movie. The 44-year-old star said he’d love Cruise, 48, to take on the Tropic Thunder role once again for a spin-off flick. Cruise dressed as the character for a stint at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year. Speaking to MTV News, Stiller said: “Les Grossman is notoriously difficult to negotiate with, so we’re right now negotiating with him because he wants to play himself in the film. “And he’s kind of a bully, and he’s very argumentative, and he’s a little bit abusive.” He added: “I want to try to get Tom Cruise to play him. So if I can get Tom Cruise, who’s interested to play him, if Les will agree not to play himself, then it looks like it could be coming together. A script is being written now.”

It’s official: Katie Holmes to play Jackie Kennedy

Katie Holmes will return to her TV roots and play Jackie Kennedy in a mini-series about the turbulent political dynasty.

She will star opposite The Last Song’s Greg Kinnear, who will play John F. Kennedy.

The Kennedys, an eight-part drama, is scheduled to make its debut on the History Channel next year and will follow the rise of the family up to the president’s 1963 assassination.

According to History Channel President Nancy Dubuc: “When History announced this ambitious project in December, our goal was A-list auspices behind and in front of the camera. [It's] a role that that Katie’s demure elegance will bring to life.”

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes threw a cupcake party for their daughter’s birthday.

Suri turned four on April 18 and the family celebrated at their Los Angeles home.

According to PEOPLE, Suri’s friends were all invited to the tea party, where they decorated cupcakes before tucking in to them.

Partygoers were also treated to a treasure hunt before having a swim in the pool.

Suri, who is the only child for the couple but the youngest of Cruise’s three children, was recently seen with mum Holmes in New York while she filmed new movie Son of No One.

David Beckham has recounted a game played by Tom Cruise in which he was required to sing.

The football star told George Lopez that Cruise at a restaurant one night said: “OK, let’s play a music game. Let’s start a singing game.”

Beckham, who regards singing as his “worst nightmare”, was not thrilled. So he went about getting out of the game, going so far as to text a friend at a nearby table to help him out.

He did reserve praise for Cruise, who took Becks and his wife Victoria under his wing when they landed in Hollywood. He said the actor is “one of the most handsome men I’ve ever met”.

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal said she got confused when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were in town as she thought the press attention was for her.

The 32-year-old told how she and husband Peter Sarsgaard, 38, were at a cafe in New York earlier this year during a break in rehearsals for their production of Uncle Vanya when they were swarmed by photographers.

She said “There were a ton of paparazzi in the cafe with their huge cameras and laptops. I was like: ‘Peter, oh my God, they are so into us. They’re swarming us. We are so important.’”

However she added: “It turns out Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were living on that street. It was the winter, so the photographers would go into the cafe to download their pictures.”

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly arguing over whether to have another child.

The superstar couple are already parents to three-year-old daughter Suri, and a British pal of the pair says Cruise, 47, is keen for them to have another.

The pal said to British newspaper the Sunday Express: “They are arguing a lot because Tom feels he is getting on in age [he's 47] and he thinks Katie owes it to him and Suri to get pregnant.

“He says he would be in his 60s while the child was young and that’s still just about OK to share in the child’s life. Katie feels Tom is more wound up about this than he’s ever been and relations between them are at a really tricky stage.

“She’s only 30 and she’s not sure about having another baby right now. But then she feels guilty about Suri being an only child, especially as she grew up in a big family herself.”

Hollywood actress Katie Holmes says her husband has “great taste” and often gives his opinion on her outfits.

Katie, 30, is married to Top Gun star Tom, 47, and they have a three-year-old daughter together.

She said to ELLE magazine: “He usually likes everything, but sometimes I’ll walk out and he’ll say: ‘I think that dress might be wearing you. You don’t need that’.”

However, she admitted she doesn’t mind his feedback as she said: “Tom has great taste.”

Katie also recently said that her whole world revolves around her family.

Hollywood actress Katie Holmes has revealed that her “whole world revolves around” her family.

Holmes, 30, is married to actor Tom Cruise, 47, and they have a three-year-old daughter Suri.

She said: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family.

“I do what I need to do, but it’s like: ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

Talking about being a working mum on the set of Broadway show All My Sons, she said: “Suri would sit in my lap in the make-up chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins [clips].”

Tom Cruise rumoured to vacationing with pal James Packer

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has left Melbourne and is thought to be enjoying a vacation with his longtime mate and fellow Scientologist, James Packer.

Packer inherited a billion-dollar publishing and media fortune created by his late father, the tycoon Kerry Packer.

Speculation has it that Cruise and Packer may be on board the Packer yacht, the Arctic P, that is moored in Tahiti’s Port de Papeete.

The vessel has been spotted idle over the past few months and is a convenient flight across the Pacific from Australia.

Cruise has provided guidance to the young Packer through a business crisis and introduced him to his church.

He was supportive to Packer when his father, Kerry, died and Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes, attended the wedding of Packer to his wife Erica in the south of France in 2007.

Holmes remains at the Crown Tower in Melbourne with the couple’s daughter, Suri, three, as she prepares to film her new movie.

But she took some time out to go shopping at Target where she spent $800 AUS on toys and clothing.

Holmes and Suri and a pair of security guards did some careful browsing before they settled on a children’s bike, a Dora the Explorer piano, a Barbie doll, flannelette sheets for a child, several floor mats with heart and flower designs, board games, children’s DVDs and an Australian Rules football.
