Tommy Lee is developing a reality TV show for SyFy called “Culture Shock with Tommy Lee”. The premise is that the rock star will travel with an investigative team who will try to unlock the secrets of some previously unknown “secret societies”. Tommy said “This is the first show that I’ve been a part of that will blow our minds and reveal things that will explain almost all our questions. I’m very excited to be partnering with Syfy on this show. It’s going to be an amazing experience for all involved.” I’m intrigued. It sounds like a rock and roll edition of “Ghost Hunters”.

Amy Winehouse was out and about in Camden making a very successful return to the partying scene. You know she’s really making a statement telling us all she’s back when it’s marked by a lovely upskirt with polka dots.

Welcome back luv!

Amy has confirmed she will headline a series of concerts to celebrating the 50th birthday of Island Records. These are the only dates she has announced this year… but hey… it’s a start!

Tom Tom Club, Paul Weller and Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) will also perform during the week-long series at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in May to celebrate the half-centenary of the label.

Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, who started the label in Jamaica back in 1959, is co-curating the event. In keeping with the label’s heritage, the concerts will feature performances from reggae artists Toots and the Maytals and Sly & Robbie, as well as a number of “very special guests”.

More recent Island artists such as Keane, Bombay Bicycle Club and Ladyhawke will also participate.

Photo exhibitions, artwork displays and the publication of Keep On Running – The Story Of Island Records, will also take place starting the week May 25, 2009. Tickets went on sale Friday 13 March, and pre-sale registration is also available from the event’s official website.

There are doubts as to whether this picture of Madonna is real or photoshopped. I think it’s real as she has had lots of pics showing her fur since she was much younger. Her love of ferocious fur seems to be one of her trademarks as a nude picture of her furry privates from her younger years just sold at auction for over 35k.

She may have always been hairy, or it could be that she is in the peri-menopause phase of her life which causes estrogen levels to fall resulting in more facial hair.

When someone is as obsessed with their looks as she seems to be it confuses me as to why she doesn’t mind a hairy face? With her millions she has so many options, she could use facial bleach, or creams to dissolve the hair, get her face threaded, waxed, lasered, or have electrolysis… yet she chooses not to.

She apparently does not want to work out less and spend more time at the beauty shop!

The AP is reporting a broken guitar that was owned by late grunge rocker Kurt Cobain has been sold to an unidentified private collector for $100,000.

“Helen Hall, a broker in England, says it’s the second-highest known price for an item of Cobain memorabilia.” The highest was $131,000 at a 2006 auction for his Mosrite Gospel Mark IV guitar.

“The seller was punk rocker Sluggo of The Grannies and Hullabaloo.”

Jacob McMurray, senior curator at Seattle’s Experience Music Project said:

“It’s a really cool-looking guitar because it’s smashed and held together with duct tape and Kurt Cobain wrote on it.”

Sluggo apparently “traded a working guitar for the smashed one during the first U.S. tour of Cobain’s band, Nirvana.”

Nirvana was playing in New Jersey and living hand to mouth like most (non label manufactured) musicians during the early (and often last) stages of their careers when Cobain smashed the guitar on stage and went looking for another one to play at the next gig.

So Sluggo gave him the working one and kept the old one – later lending it to the Experience Music Project – is and now he’s $100, 000 richer.

It always amazes me how much people will pay for someone else’s stuff… especially if it’s junk. That old saying “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” is sooo true.

Scarlett Johansson appeared on NBC’s “Tonight” talk show last Wednesday to promote her new movie, “The Spirit.” She said she’d caught a cold from co-star Samuel L. Jackson, and ‘felt her illness had value because it had been passed down from one celebrity to another.’

Host Jay Leno gave her a tissue, and she blew into it and the announced she would sell it on eBay to raise money for the hunger relief charity USA Harvest. She blew twice, smeared some of her lipstick and mucus on it… and it sold for $5300.00!

How snotty.

There’s a rumour going around that Guns N’ Roses singer, Axl Rose, is supposedly suffering from Anthropophobia which is a fear of people.

Some unnamed sources are saying that recently his phobia has gotten much worse which may explain why he hasn’t been out promoting the release of his Chinese Democracy album.

One source says Axl:

“has fired his management company, Front Line, three times in four weeks. He hasn’t left his Los Angeles home in two months. He won’t give interviews, won’t do talk shows, or perform – which makes touring or promoting very difficult, obviously.”

A representative for Axl dispels that rumour saying:

“He has not been diagnosed with anthropophobia. He hasn’t fired Front Line, and no interviews have been canceled.”

Interesting, and sad if true. Axl is eccentric, I seem to remember that in one of his music videos he seems to act out his phobia of people. It’s the one where he hides in a shower fully clothed while the police are searching his house… which may only mean that he is afraid of the cops!

Sir Elton John talks about touring and what drives him in the latest issue of GQ:

“I love going out and playing. I’ve never loved playing so much as I do now. I’m just going back to do some dates with my band, then I go off and do six dates completely on my own, and then I go back to Vegas to do a show which is completely different to anything we’ve done before, and then I’m going on the road again with Billy Joel again next year—so that’s the fourth different thing—and then I may go on the road with Ray Cooper again—so that’s the fifth different thing—and then I’ve got an orchestral thing up my sleeve. So that’s six different kinds of shows I can do. And I just really, really, really enjoy it. I suppose it’s because I’m totally happy with my personal life, totally happy travelling. Everything in my life is pretty much the most balanced it’s ever been. I’ve been going to places I’ve never played before—Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi. This year I played my fiftieth state. I’ve got so much energy and so many things on the go. I want to do another Vegas show.”

Benji called into the Ryan Seacrest radio show and had this to say about his boo:

“I’m so beyond happy,” says Benji. “When you’re that happy, you think about everything. She’s my best friend. I’ve never been so happy. Nothing worries me in life anymore. When you find that best friend, that love, all your worries kind of go away. Your work gets better and everything you do, you have someone supporting you, and she’s that for me. I’ve never been supported so much. I’m a lucky guy. Her family is so nice to me. And now the four of us, we all … it’s great, you know.”

Seems like a match made in heaven! Twin brothers hooking up with best girlfriends?!

Tommy Veggie

Tommy Lee is going all out to make his relationship with ex-wife (they divorced in 1998) Pam Anderson succeed.

She has been a vegetarian and animal rights activist for years, so to prove his love he has given up eating meat:

He said,

“Pamela and the kids have moved in with me. It’s awesome, man. It’s definitely working. just went vegetarian (and) I dig it, I feel lighter, I like it.

I figured that this is something I hadn’t done yet but wanted to. At this point in my life, I’m down to trying anything I haven’t done yet.”

She’s got to appreciate his thoughtfulness, I mean, the man is giving up steak!
