Korean singer BoA’s debuts her U.S. performance on Wednesday, December 3rd in the MTV Times Square studio in New York City. She will be performing her new single “Eat You Up.“

Taylor Swift’s “White Horse,” a track from her new album Fearless that was featured on the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy is doing great.
The soulful song will debut at #13 on Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 singles chart this week, which will give her the 6th Top 20 debut of 2008 breaking the all-time Billlboard record for the number of Top 20 debuts in a calendar year by any artist!
The previous record was five Top 20 debuts this year and that was held by her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and his brothers.
Taylor’s other five songs that made the Top 20 include “Change”, “Fearless”, “You’re Not Sorry”, “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story”.
Fearless also sold 592,304 units in its first week of sales (her last album sold 3.5 million).
In comparison, The Jonas Brothers sold over 525,000 units of their latest album, A Little Bit Longer (their last album sold 1.5 million).

Celine Dion is suffering from a respiratory virus and has had to postpone a few more of her North American shows on her Taking Chances World Tour.
She had to cancel shows in Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and Chicago earlier this month, and this week the superstar songstress was scheduled to play the HP Pavilion on Sunday, Nov. 23. AEG officials said the concert will now take place on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009
AEG officials advised her fans to hold on to their original tickets as they will be honored for the new concert date.
For the fans who are unable to attend the rescheduled concert a refund at their original point of purchase, can be obtained AEG officials said.
Apparently, Janet Jackson who also had many canceled shows due to illness, has so far not rescheduled.
Celine’s, tour promoter, AEG Live, released a statement saying that she is recuperating from a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection that was further complicated by inflamed vocal cords.
The firm also said: “Her physician has instructed her to refrain from singing in order to completely recover.”
She’s not taking any chances with her health and I don’t blamer her. Get well soon.
50 Cent’s new album which was due out this December, is aptly named. It’s called “Before I Self Destruct,” and the launch of it has certainly lived up to its title as it is now being pushed back to 2009 with no new release date set.
The record was originally supposed to come out in early December, just in time for holiday buying, but after the first single “Get Up” didn’t make a big impression, Fifty has decided to opt out and wait. They are using it to hype up the Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture fight for UFC 91 tonight which is one of the biggest fights ever though! *wee*
Interscope, his label says the official reason for the delay is because Fiddy was: “rushing” to meet the December date but “with the deadline to secure advertising and retail placement for the album imminent,” he decided to wait until next year.
Scott Storche’s beatz are wack anyways. I don’t know why he insists on working with him. I mean has Fifty forgotten about Paris’s album that was produced by Storche? It bombed! Oh, and let’s not forget Lil Kim’s album! Same thing. It tanked as well! Does the man have any credit left after those two flops?
Beyonce gave us way too much information on how she gets into character as her alter ego Sasha Fierce in issue #56 of V Magazine, which goes on sale this week. Here she is on the cover. Editor-in-chief Stephen Gan raved about her when he said this:

She had this to say about her alter ego:
“When I’m onstage,” says Beyonce of Sasha, “I’m aggressive and strong and not afraid of my sexuality. The tone of my voice gets different, and I’m fearless. I’m just a different person. It’s a way for me to differentiate what I do onstage from who I really am. It’s a way for me to not lose myself, to keep my life in perspective, because it’s really hard sometimes to stay on Earth when you’re a celebrity.”
She rambled on:
“It’s funny because right before the show I’m under the stage making sure my double-stick is in the right place, my pack is turned on, and my shoes have the stickies on the bottom so I don’t slip—all of these things that are so not glamorous. Then I take my last sip of water, clear my throat, close my eyes, and tell myself, You are fierce. You are fierce. You are fierce! And the second I take that first step and hear that crowd, I kind of transform. By the time I get up to the stage, I’m in the zone. I don’t feel anything anymore. Like if I’m in pain or if I’m nervous it kind of becomes, I don’t know how to describe it, I become that other thing. It’s like I’m ready for war.”
So she says, although I really do think that she is a bit over the top about this alter ego/publicity stunt character/charade. She is a very talented and hard working performer, but let’s face it, if people in general started going on about having alter egos, most would suggest they get evaluated by a shrink!
The World Music Awards organizers awarded Mariah with a Special Achievement honor and it cost them mega bucks to ensure she would show up for 15 minutes of camera time.
The ceremony was held in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and the UK’s Daily Mail is reporting that she demanded a private jet which cost $156k, a penthouse suite at the Hotel de Paris (tres exclusive) at $15.6k per night for two nights.
She apparently had the cheek to ask for similar VIP treatment at the hotel for her 15 member entourage of stylists and personal assistants.
It is also reported that the kitchen at the five-star hotel was not up to her standards for dinner so she had some other famous chef named Alain Ducasse summoned to cook her meals and he impressed her so much she had him stay on so that he could teach her how to make a romantic meal for her husband. No tab on what he charged, but think… expensive fee.
The paper went on to say that she insisted on all this extravagance despite being told by organizers that there is a current financial crises going on in the world and their finances were limited.
Diva to the max. Someone needs to put her in her place and say no to her. Her over-inflated sense of self-entitlement is out of control and she needs an attitude adjustment.
Rihanna fainted on stage during her concert today at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
She was performing her song “Umbrella”, which was the grand finale of her concert. She had just come down from flying around on a harness. Her boo Chris Brown joined her on stage for the final performance of the evening. She was observed bending over and signaling that she wasn’t feeling well.
Poor thing then ran off stage, where paramedics went to administer medical aid to her. Chris, ever the pro, wrapped up singing the song and then rushed backstage to be by her side.

UPDATE: “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage to sit down, catch her breath and have some water,” her rep tells E!. “She is perfectly healthy and will be at her show tomorrow.”
Britney just won the Best Album of the Year Award during the MTV Europe Awards today in Liverpool, England. She wasn’t present for the awards, but did have a thank you speech ready. Britney also just won the award for Best Act. Check out her speech here:

Rapper Mos Def is being hunted by the Las Vegas police department over his alleged attacking of a fashion event photographer this past August.
A warrant has been issued for Def — real name Dante Terrell Smith. He currently is facing charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of private property.
Volker Corell who is the official photographer for the Men’s Apparel and Garment Industry Convention (MAGIC) in Las Vegas has claimed Def did the freak on him as he was taking pictures of attendees at the event until Mos allegedly yanked the camera off his neck, bashed it around on the ground and then left in a snit with the trashed equipment.
The photographer says his hand was cut during the scuffle.
Def’s hate on for the paparazzi is well known, but Corell was a photographer who was hired for the event and what’s ironic about it all? He says he didn’t even know who Mos was until after the alleged attack!
