Rapper and hip-hop producer Dr. Dre’s 20-year-old son has died. His spokesperson released the following statement:
“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”
Young Jr was found in his bed this past Saturday morning by his mother. After she was unable to wake him, she called paramedics, who responded and after their efforts to revive him failed, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the coroner’s spokesperson, Young had spent the previous evening with friends. His mom told police that he got home Saturday at around 5:30 a.m., and that she’d heard him in his bedroom. Police said they did not suspect foul play.
LeRoi Moore, the sax player in the Dave Matthews Band, has died. He was 46 years old.
LeRoi was seriously injured in an ATV accident on his farm last June 30th. He sustained injuries of broken ribs and a punctured lung. He developed complications and had to be re-admitted last month.
A rep for the Band gave TMZ the following statement:
“LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. Moore had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.”

He looks like a clone of Michael Jackson although I seriously doubt that’s what his intention was. Here’s a little tidbit of news about his fall from the freak throne, he came in second in a recent survey asking British people which celebs they have the most nightmares about. Kinda sad really, he used to scare me, now he’s… just …. I don’t know… sort of freakish?
Katy Perry has done it again. She was Number 1 in the US for 7 weeks, and now her hit single is Number 1 on the U.K. singles charts on download sales alone!
The song has received its share of criticism and controversy for its faux-lesbian lyrics - “I kissed a girl and I liked it / I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.”
Rolling Stone said the former gospel singer: “sounds like the type who makes out with her best friend just to get a dude’s attention.”
Katy shares writing credits with Max Martin who wrote (Britney Spears’ Baby… One More Time), Dr Luke who wrote (Sugababes’ About You Now) and British singer-songwriter Cathy Dennis who wrote (Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head).
Dennis said it was “a bit of a shock” to find out she had scored another number one record, but added she “couldn’t be happier” for Perry.
“It was mostly ad-libbed, with Russell asking her for advice about hosting the show. There’s also a 9,000-pound elephant in it, as in ‘the elephant in the room.‘ ”
Britney did a promo shut with Russell Brand (and an elephant) for the MTV music awards. I am surprised she even wants to step foot near anything MTV after her terrible performance last year.
I wonder if they will let her perform again.. somehow I think they just might, because of the great ratings they got. It was really only Britney’s reputation that suffered.
On a side note, Britney looks really hot in this shot, I am not sure if it is photoshop, or if she just actually is looking better.
The Teen Choice Awards Winners List is out and the brothers surfed away with multiple surfboard trophies at Sunday’s 10th annual Teen Choice Awards. The awards were selected by over 30 million votes cast online by teens, to honor celebrities in TV, film, music, sports.
They received six awards: choice breakout group, love song, music single, song of the summer, male red carpet fashion icons and male hotties.
Throughout the taped ceremony, the Jonas Brothers appeared on stage to answer questions from teenagers on Web cameras. The three of them were strapped to harnesses and hoisted over the audience at one point during the show. The fans loved it!
JLo and her adoring hubby Marc enjoyed an intimate and private dinner – just before midnight – after his show at the Irvine Meadows/Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. They dined at Eva Longoria Parker and her partner JT Torregiani’s Hollywood restaurant Beso. To make their evening extra special the restaurant was kept open just for the two lovebirds. Date night without the twins!
Jessica Simpson’s new country album cover is out. The name of the Album is ‘Do You Know’. She looks decent in the shot, although it is probably photoshopped to sh*t. She has a nice white dress on, with some brown cowboy boots to give her that country girl look. I wonder how well her album will do… considering the scathing reviews that are out for her current single.
DONNIE WAHLBERG from New Kids On The Block went to the band’s blog to set the record straight regarding the rumours flying about the internet that the reunited boy banders were in secret negotiations to work with Madonna and MJ on their forthcoming album.
Donnie was quoted as saying:
“It’s very exciting. It’s one big party and everyone wants to join us.”
He clarified his comment by insisting the quote was made up, when he posted the following comment on the band’s blog:
“We are not recording with Michael Jackson and/or Madonna. We never claimed to be, either. Good fun reading about it though!”
So everyone was buzzing over the fact that Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend video on youtube made her around 2 million…
but apparently her fans set up sites to have it run every 15 minutes.. how is that fair?
Youtube said the following “We have safeguards in place that limit the efficiency of this type of behavior, to make sure that advertising campaigns running on YouTube only reach legitimate viewers and are in no way affected by inflated view counts or gaming activities.”
I am glad to see that Youtube is on top of this fraudulent behaviour.
I went to embed her video for you guys so you can play it over and over, and it says ‘disabled by request’. I guess they did that so people wouldn’t cheat the system or they just don’t want us putting it on our blogs. Damn RCA!
