Ricky Martin proudly shows off his twin baby boys born this past August via a surrogate mother. He is a five-time Grammy award winner who was a success as a Spanish singer who then went global with his first English album in 1999. His hit “Livin’ La vida loca”, from the ‘Ricky Martin’ album sold 17 million copies.
Here are the some highlights of the interview:
PEOPLE: Describe this time in your life
MARTIN: I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.
How hands-on are you as a father?
I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.
Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’
Tell us about Valetino’s and Matteo’s personalities.
Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!
What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance.
“We’re friends – that’s it.” A Rod wants to put the rumors to rest that he and Madonna have been jetting around together, and hooking up at various resorts that are along her tour route. He told People:
“I can tell you this, I have never been on a plane with her.” Hmm I wonder if he meant “plane of existence”… You know how into Kabbalah she is and how interested in learning more about he has been (according to his ex-wife).
He went on to say:
“I’ve been to two [of her] concerts, yet I’ve read that I went to 20. I’ve also read that we were buying an apartment together. That is absolutely ridiculous and not true.”
A-Rod made it be known that they both are passionate for charity; she for Raising Malawi and he for the Boys and Girls club. He says:
“I have a lot of respect for her, she’s very committed to making the world a better place. She’s had an amazing career, and we’re friends. That’s it.”
Beyonce makes an appearance on the Tyra Banks Show wearing her cyborg looking glove on tomorrow’s (November 26th) show. In this picture she is showing Tyra where the ring should go after performing her hit song, “Singles Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”.
Beyonce, 27, apparently gets a big surprise wedding gift on the show as well as also performs “If I Were A Boy” off her new album I Am… Sasha Fierce.
In a recent interview that is in the latest issue of Giant, she talks about getting married to Jay-Z where she says she doesn’t have a fantasy view of marriage. That’s because she’s seen her parents, Matthew and Tina Knowles, go through difficult times during their marriage but managed to work things out.
Says Beyonce:
“My parents are tighter now than ever, but they’ve been through it all. There were times when they were together, times when they were apart. I learned that it’s a lot of hard work, that it’s more than a dress.”
Kevin Jonas poses for the magazine that just honored him with spot in their 2008 Sexiest Men’s List. People Magazine had to do some convincing to reassure him that he was the chosen one out of the brothers.
He just celebrated his 21st birthday in Cabo San Lucas a couple of weeks ago with friends and family, talked a little about the confidence factor he claims he always had:
He shared, “I can walk into a room and make friends with anybody. That confidence level is something that I have.”

“They’ve been together for months,” Taylor told OK!. “That’s why we broke up.”
I notice she says ‘That’s why WE broke up.” Poor thing, I guess it is still too painful to admit she was dumped by him. While there is NO easy way to break things off with someone, it’s sad he didn’t have the decency enough to do it in person, face to face… before he hooked up with someone else.
Joe who is 19, and Camilla who is 22, met and got to know each other when she starred in the brothers’ video “Lovebug.”
“We saw her in [10,000 B.C.] and, to be honest, we all fell in love with her,” Joe’s younger brother, Nick, has said. “We said why not have her in a music video?”
Victoria Beckham thought she’d dress in disguise to catch a departing flight to Los Angeles at Heathrow Airport in London on Saturday. Didn’t work, everyone knew who she was because there is no denying she has impeccable style and is always dressed to the nines.
Victoria and hubby David recently exchanged hand-carved gold and silver Japanese talisman pendants to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary which isn’t until next July. How romantic they’re already celebrating 8 months early!
Victoria told Vogue:
“The energy they emit is incredibly powerful. These pieces act as talismans of love, healing and protection… They were hand carved by a master carver in Japan, who spends most days in meditation before working.”
Jennifer Lopez just admitted in a very revealing interview that she suffered ‘a kind of nervous breakdown’ seven years ago. It was just before she married her second husband, dancer/choreographer Cris Judd. Blaming overwork and stress, she refused medication, choosing to rest until she felt better.
She told website The Daily Beast that she ‘froze’ while filming Enough in 2001:
‘I was like – I don’t want to move. I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to do anything. I had a nervous breakdown. There were no signs leading up to it. You really don’t know what’s happening at first. I was going, what’s going on? It’s funny what tricks your mind plays on you. I just didn’t want people to think I was falling apart.’
She went on to talk about Scientology (her dad is a Scientologist for more than 20 years) and how people do not understand the religion:
‘I just wish that people wouldn’t judge it without knowing what it is,’ she said. Lopez added that she would be happy for her children to attend a Scientology school.
On her diva image:
‘Once you have a lot of success you become a target in many ways. I just think the whole diva thing is a misrepresentation of who I am. I worked really hard. I kept my focus on the right things. And still even with that they find stuff to pick on.’

Well now, it seems as if the reports of Britney Spears appearing on an upcoming issue of Vogue are not true. The confusion and rumours started when gossip columnist Liz Smith reported:
“Vogue’s celebrated Patrick Demarchelier has come to the U.S. from London to photograph Britney.”
Apparently, while he does shoots for Vogue, Britney must be posing for another magazine since her one and only Vogue cover was way back in November 2001 and that issue was “a flop” according to a source. Apparently, “She’s just not a Vogue kind of girl.”
A rep for the magazine also confirms there are no plans for Spears: “She is not appearing on or in Vogue,” the rep said.
Hmm, I must say I feel so much better as I really didn’t think she was Vogue-material either!
Photographer Patrick Demarchelier had a photo shoot with Britney yesterday for Vogue. Well now, things really are looking up for her. Imagine that, Vogue. I’m impressed with Conservator Daddy Spears, he’s really done his job guiding his daughter who has made great progress these past few months, gone are the days of her wearing trucker hats!
She has been looking much healthier lately with the most noticeable improvement being the weave scene, and is apparently back in the studio working since she told OK! Magazine she’s having a new album set to drop in December:
“It’s my best work ever.”
Makes me wonder though… what about all the people who struggle with depression all the while managing to tow the line on their road to recovery? None of them will ever be rewarded the way Britney is being rewarded and welcomed back now. Shame for them really.
I think she’s past the daddy hand holding stage and is back on track… somewhat. It concerns me though that she loses her kids, goes off the deep end, and now she’s posing for one of the most highly regarded fashion magazines ever and winning music awards!
