Michael Lohan has been arrested for alleged violation of a restraining order obtained by an ex-girlfriend, Erin Muller.
Lohan was most recently reported making plans to move to the West Coast with his new girlfriend, Kate Major. But he was alleged to have tried to make contact with Muller by telephoning her at her job last week.
Lohan, father of Lindsay, was arrested by Nassau County Police and booked for criminal contempt. He is due in court on February 25th.
Lohan for his part denies the allegation. A source says Lohan claims that Muller has an upcoming arrest pending.
Lohan reportedly said: “Erin lied and pressed charges. She is being arrested again in NY City and Nassau County 2nd Precinct. Erin said I called her but she lied because she heard I was in Costa Rica instead.
“I have proof and she doesn’t. Her lawyer asked for money to drop the charges. How is it that I have proof and she doesn’t?”
Lindsay Lohan’s father has found himself at the centre of a fake suicide drama.
Michael Lohan was forced to deny claims he was planning to kill himself after an impostor used social networking website Twitter to send a series of messages supposedly from him.
One read: “Fiance just left me. My whole family hates me.
“I spent Thanksgiving with my Mom. I just can’t do any of this any more.”
Another message posted soon afterwards read: “The death of my father left me in a black hole.
“IDK [I don't know] what to do.”
Then another read: “Heading to the Brooklyn Bridge.”
His final message, addressed to daughter Lindsay, said: “Love you. Bye.”
But in an email to US media website Gawker.com, Lohan wrote: “This is not not not me.
“I do not have and never had a twitter [sic] and twitter’s [sic] corporate office confirms that. My lawyers are investigating.”
Lohan has faced criticism in recent weeks for releasing taped phone conversations he had with Lindsay’s mum, Dina, to US media outlets. It has been suggested that he could be jailed for the leaked audio. The former convict is estranged from the Mean Girls starlet.

Dina – in a segment of phone tapes that Lindsay’s father, Michael, released to the public – is heard saying that Lindsay had been cutting herself.
The tapes have caused Lindsay enormous anguish and fractured the family into pieces with both Lindsay and Dina threatening legal action against Michael over the incident. Michael, meanwhile, sees himself as on a crusade for his daughter’s life.
RadarOnline.com claimed it had obtained a phone conversation between Dina and Michael, in which they blame each other for Lindsay’s situation.
Radar reports: “Michael is talking with Dina, telling her that he represents the bad things in her life and Dina interrupts him, saying, ‘Her cutting herself and hurting herself? Yeah, it’s bad Michael, it’s bad.’”
In the 2008 call, Radar reports that Michael says he does not accept any blame for Lindsay’s situation, telling Dina: “I will feel like it’s everyone else’s fault.”
Michael has spoken out about what he alleges is Lindsay’s perilous prescription drug abuse. He said: “I admit, I’m being a bit selfish in releasing the tapes. But I’m tired of being lied about. I’m tired of Dina and others making me out to be someone I’m not, so now I’m going to prove to the world who the real liars are.”

Lohan’s troubles are many, both in career and personal life, which is a day-to-day tabloid chronicle involving most of her immediate family. Her father Michael is publicly airing his view that she is on a path to destruction due to prescription drug use. She is on extended probation and ordered to undergo intensive drug and alcohol education.
Semel and Lohan stepped out to Crown Bar to join a group, including Twilight’s Kellan Lutz, that was partying at the nightspot. RadarOnline reported Lohan looked a little worse for wear. Semel, she had always maintained, was just a friend. But the pair were once rumoured to be lesbian lovers and Lohan has been in an on-off again tumultuous lesbian relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson.
The pair happily partied the night away, with Lohan dancing for most of the evening. She recently laughed off reports that linked her with Gerard Butler and male model Petey Wright.
Lindsay Lohan has been dropped by her record label Casablanca Records, reports say.
The troubled starlet, whose personal life has imploded, is now suffering career difficulties. In recent weeks, her fashion collaboration with Emanuel Ungaro was widely panned and now in adding salt to the wound, claims that she did the work for free have emerged.
Lohan had been recording with Casablanca for a year, one source said. “Casablanca has suspended all further recording sessions of her album and put their working relationship with her on hold. Lindsay was committed to making music and has been working on it for 16 months. She is going to do what she can to keep her music career going,” said the source.
Lohan reportedly collected a substantial chunk of free clothing for her Paris Fashion Week consultation gig with Ungaro, but was not paid.
“Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them. Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes,” said the source.
Lohan, meanwhile, is locked in battle with her father, Michael, who she accused of spreading lies and seeking publicity at her expense.
A teenager has been has been charged with burgling the homes of Hollywood starlets Lindsay Lohan and Audrina Patridge.
Nicholas Prugo, 18, is accused of stealing more than £100,000 worth of jewellery and designer gear from the two actresses.
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan’s home was targeted on 23 August, and belongings worth £78,000 were snatched, including personal photos of the Mean Girls star.
Six months earlier, The Hills star Audrina Patridge also fell victim to Prugo, who stole clothes and jewellery worth £26,000 from her LA home.
Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office today confirmed that Prugo – who had been released on £61,000 bail after his arrest last month – faces two counts of first-degree residential burglary.
He is scheduled to appear in court on 11 November. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison.
The singer and actress seems to have a lot on her agenda lately. After admitting to the fact that he believes that Lindsay Lohan has a prescription drug problem, Michael Lohan now plans to do something about it: I had a conversation with her, her mother and everyone. Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to be doing things in a pretty public way. But Dina has got to get on the same page with me. It’s a serious situation. You can’t just talk about it and tell me that you want to do an intervention and then do nothing.” Stage an intervention? What do they plan to do, try and catch Lindsay Lohan red-handed? It sounds more like a police-raid thing than a solution. But hey, fathers know best, just look at how well Britney Spears is doing.
Dina Lohan is slamming reports that are questioning her parenting skills after claims that her 15 year-old daughter Ali was out partying instead of studying,
Dina, who is also mum to troubled Lindsay Lohan, insists that she is a great mum who home-schools her children.
She told People.com: “Ali is in a home-schooling programme. She has never been pulled out of school.
"It’s the same home-schooling programme that Lindsay was in since the 10th grade. It’s a wonderful programme that many celebrities are enrolled in."
Defending her parenting skills, she added: "I am a single mum of four children, and I devote my life to [them].”
As for the claims that Ali has been bitten by the partying bug, Dina says: "Ali is working, working hard. She’s recording, and she’s working on a fashion line. Ali has also been supporting her sister."
Lindsay Lohan, who recently split from long-time girlfriend Samantha Ronson, is also focusing on her career, says her mother.
Dina added: "Lindsay is working extremely hard. Her spray-tan line sold more than 100,000 units at Sephora in one day.
"We just wish people would leave us alone – at least for Mother’s Day!"

Lindsay was not invited to the launching of SaMan’s sister, Charlotte Ronson’s new fashion line with JC Penney over the weekend. Lindsay had to be escorted out of the building by security as SaMan left instructions she was not to be let in.
Sources told OK Magazine Linds even knew she wasn’t supposed to go, but tried anyways to get in and ended up being “restrained from coming in by five security guards.”
Well… if you drop in at Passion Nightclub you can watch Lindsay hosting the party and hanging out in the VIP area while SaMantha DJ’s, that is unless they have another lover’s spat before then.
Last weekend, Lindsay caused chaos while leaving on a Delta Flight from Tampa, Fla. on Saturday morning when the airline was unable to provide her with a first-class seat on the already overbooked flight.
According to a source, passengers laughed as she: acted ” incredibly entitled (and embarrassed), stomped around and warned a friend traveling with her: “you’d better come and visit me back there in case I die.”
She ended up getting what she wanted. Her temper tantrum worked. Give the girl an Oscar!
