Despite his attorney arguing on his behalf, Chad Kroeger was convicted and will be sentenced May 1st.
Kroeger’s lawyer, told the court that when Canadian cops pulled him over in June, 2006 for speeding in his red Lamborghini Diablo, one of the officers asked him to blow in his face to see whether or not Chad had alcohol on his breath.
The lawyer also insisted that cops waited too long before taking a breath sample, which the they said was because Chadwas ticked off about having to leave his car on the side of the road.
Chad was convicted. He’ll be sentenced May 1. The man can afford to drive a lamborghini, why didn’t he just hire a cab, or a limo after he started drinking? A person is sober until he takes that first drink, and when they decide to take that sip, they should also decide to find a safe ride home.

Documents were filed Friday by her parents in an LA Court for a legal name change for her. The reason given for the name change was this: “Destiny Hope Cyrus has been commonly known as Miley Cyrus since she was a young child. The Change of Name is requested to make her commonly used name the same as her legal name.”
In other related Miley news.. she apparently has a cheeky fan! She was shopping at a mall in Los Angeles when she stopped for a bite to eat at Fuddruckers. This guy in the red shirt pictured here is an employee there and was so star struck he started blowing sunshine in an effort to impress her, didn’t skip a beat and promptly asked her for her digits.
Miley took HIS number instead and programmed it into her phone. .Something tells me she won’t be calling him, but maybe his boss will when he sees this photo. It’s not appropriate to hit on the customers!
The attorneys were back in court today but were unable to agree to terms for a custody agreement for Britney and KFed. She has a new lawyer, now named Stacy Phillips, since Trope & Trope withdrew themselves .
Apparently, KFed does want her to see their boys, but in a therapeutic environment which means with a therapist present.
It’s really a sad situation since it has only been telephone contact over the past month. The Commisioner ruled that the current custody agreement stays in place, since the lawyers on both sides couldn’t agree.
Here is Britney back in the day looking rough, with a baby on one arm with a pack of cigarettes in hand. (Classy!)

Lawyer John Eardley filed papers in a federal court last Thursday, inferring that the California courts have stepped on Britney by imposing a conservatorship.
He has told the press that Britney called him, but he’s being vague on the details of that call. Michael Sands, who used to be the spokesperson for K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is now the repping for Eardley. Coincidently, he also reps Sam Lutfi, who has a restraining order on him to stay away from Britney.
The lawyer John Eardley went on to say that Britney was not able to sign a retainer agreement because she is being “held hostage” in her own home. That seems unlikely since she has been photographed out and about shopping with her mother and father and going to the dance studio.
Since filing the papers in a federal court, Eardley has effectively stopped the California courts from issuing more orders in the conservatorship case until a federal judge decides if his filing has any merit.
Remy Ma, who is already facing assault charges, will now go to trial on gang assault and witness intimidation charges too.

The charges she is facing are from when she allegedly had some of her boys beat up the boyfriend of a witness who was set to testify in her assault trial. What a thugsta!
Remy Ma had her attorney in court to try to have gang assault and intimidation charges dismissed, saying there was insufficient evidence to indict his client. Didn’t work, judge said she’s going to trial.
She’s due back in court January 3rd.

Foxy Brown served just 40 days of her 76 days of “punitive segregation” and was let out early on “good behavior”. Imagine that! Now she can get back to her blog as well as mix it up with the rest of the prison b****es!
Foxy whose real name is get this… Inga Marchand got tossed into solitary for shoving another inmate and refusing to give a urine sample. Apparently she has had an attitude adjustment and is now being cooperative and compliant.

Louis Vuitton has sued Britney Spears for wrongful use of their brand name. Do you remember the video “Do Something“ where Britney drove around in some flashy pink hummer. Apparently Britney used Louis Vuitton fabric for the interior of her hummer. Talk about expensive! Anyway to make a long story short, Britney has to pay 80,000 dollars in damages to Louis Vuitton!
The video has also been banned. Sony, BMG and MTV Online were all named in the lawsuit. Britney was not.
I’m sure it’s the tape that has been heard around the world. Duane “Dog” Chapman’s son Tucker sold a recording he made of his dad ranting at him to the National Enquirer. On it Dog was growling racial epithets about Tucker’s girlfriend using a racial epithet the ( N word) several times.
Monique Shinnery, Tucker’s girl, tells the magazine that she’s going to sue for slander. “I want justice,” says Monique. “He has slandered me, stated that I have bad character and repeatedly lied about me on national television.”

Dog has been making the rounds of radio and talk shows saying that he apologized to Monique but her lawyer told the Enquirer that Dog did so through his lawyer, not personally.
When Dog was on Larry King, he said his son was given 15 grand by the magazine for the tape. He went on to say that his son bought a truck and a big screen tv and is probably broke again since he is unemployed.
Hmm, I wonder how much the magazine gave her? They both must be really angry with Dog to do this to him publicly.

R&B singer Trey Songz was arrested in Springfield, Mass. on Saturday night, after he and some of his boys got “combative” with police officers. Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, was booked by the police on double charges: disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A shot was fired in the parking lot after his show, when Trey tried to “insert himself into the crime scene investigation.”
When the cops asked him to stand back and stay out of it, he responded with, “Don’t you know who I am?!”
“Prison Break” star Lane Garrison was sentenced by a judge for a total of forty months in state prison for his DUIcrash that caused the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian.

Judge Elden Fox told Lane, “I think you are truly remorseful,” but the reason for sentencing was because “the public needs to know crimes like this need to be punished and, unfortunately, you have to be the messenger.” His sentence was based on Lane’s lack of prior criminal history, that he admitted responsibility, plead guilty and offered the families financial assistance.
Just before he was sentenced Lane who was very emotional, told the victims’ families he was “genuinely remorseful” and “sickened” by his behaviour that night.
He will get credit for 91 days he has already served. That, combined with California’s Work Time/Good Time early release program, means he will do about 20 months in a state prison.
He must also pay close to $300,000 to the Setian family and to the two girls who were in the car.
