Katy Perry dressed up as Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen for her birthday party at Siren studios in Hollywood last night. It seems that the look she went for was Freddie’s early glam-rock spandex days.

It wasn’t until later on that Freddie acquired that West Hollywood leather man look and super short hair. Katy’s invitation was a picture of her head on a platter and asking invited guests to dress up as a “dead celebrity” or a “celebrity whose career is dead.”

What an odd way to celebrate. Then again, she is odd! More embarrassment for her preacher parents.

Katy Perry sang the song that has made her famous at the MTV Latin Awards last night and finished off her performance by jumping into a huge cake. When she tried to leave the stage, and she did try she kept slipping and falling with her a** kissing the floor.

She was very playful and fun and clearly had a sense of humor about it.  Unlike  Beyonce, who had this happened to her probably would ask security to confiscate everyone’s cell phones and cameras to prevent it being linked to YouTube!

Here is Katy Perry and her boyfriend Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. She is striking a pose and he looks bored out of his mind. Nice tats though. I wonder what her minister mama thinks of her darling daughter being in Sin City with a guy who looks like a bad boy?

Anyways… this picture of them was taken at the opening of Rok nightclub in Las Vegas. Not sure what look she is going for with the little girlie party dress with deck of cards motif and ridiculous deck of cards hairband on top of her head but if she clicks her heels hopefully those green sparkly shoes will send her on her way down the yellow brick road to the nearest stylist because it is so not working for her. I know I would not let her kiss me looking like that!

Katy Perry has done it again. She was Number 1 in the US for 7 weeks, and now her hit single is Number 1 on the U.K. singles charts on download sales alone!

The song has received its share of criticism and controversy for its faux-lesbian lyrics - “I kissed a girl and I liked it / I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.”

Rolling Stone said the former gospel singer: “sounds like the type who makes out with her best friend just to get a dude’s attention.”

Katy shares writing credits with Max Martin who wrote (Britney Spears’ Baby… One More Time), Dr Luke who wrote (Sugababes’ About You Now) and British singer-songwriter Cathy Dennis who wrote (Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head).

Dennis said it was “a bit of a shock” to find out she had scored another number one record, but added she “couldn’t be happier” for Perry.

Damn this song by Katy Perry is ridiculously catchy. I can’t stop listening to it! Nor can the radio stations stop playing it. Check out the lyrics . Here is the video:

I am definitely not a fan of the video.. it kind of ruins the song. So if you can just go download it and blast it through your speakers.
