The final Harry Potter movie performed magic at the weekend shattering box office records. The last ever chapter of the hit boy wizard movies Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 took in a record breaking $168.6m in the US and Canada and a staggering $476m worldwide. That meant the movie overtook the previous three-day record of $158.4m set by the 2008 Batman movie The Dark Knight. The $307m overseas record beat the $260m mark set by Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in May.
Reality star Holly Madison has revealed that she loves fried food and desserts. The 32 year-old told Star magazine: “I love chicken fingers, I love french fries. I love desserts. I’m not just into dessert or just into savoury food. I love it all. I’m a pig. I love food. So it takes a lot of discipline to eat healthy.” Madison stays fit by doing Pilates and working out on a treadmill. The former Girls Next Door star added: “I have a treadmill in my house, which is great because even if I jump on it for a little bit, it makes me feel better. “I love yoga and Pilates, too. I have a private Pilates instructor I go to once a week.”
Gwyneth Paltrow gushed about her future grandchildren as she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 38-year-old Academy Award winner said she was honoured to get the star – the 2,427th on the world-famous Tinsel Town stretch – thanking her family and friends and praising Los Angeles. “I feel so honoured to be getting this star on the Walk of Fame,” Paltrow said. “The idea that my grandchildren can one day come and see my name on the sidewalk is very overwhelming. “This city is so much a part of my heart and soul.” Paltrow praised her family for supporting her. “I don’t think I would be here were it not for my family and old friends,” she said. The ceremony was held in connection with the January 7 release of Paltrow’s latest film, Country Strong.
Josh Duhamel said he has learnt his lesson after being escorted off a plane when he refused to switch his phone off. The Life as We Know It star said Thursday’s incident, which involved him being led off a plane when he wouldn’t turn his Blackberry off before take off in New York City, was not his best moment. The 38-year-old told Access Hollywood: “I learned that it’s best to always turn them off, not my favourite moment.” Josh was said to have been ‘rude’ towards a male flight attendant when he asked him to stop texting. A rep for the Hollywood star said he was ’sorry’ for the incident. Duhamel added: “I’m good, lesson learned.”
Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz believes she looks like a “swamp monster”.
The Shrek star, who said that she prefers to dress in casual clothes when relaxing at home, told the UK’s Star magazine: “At home I wear tracksuit trousers and a T-shirt. I don’t put make-up on and actually do look a bit like a swamp monster.”
She also revealed how attached she has become to her Shrek character Fiona – who she voices for the final time in Shrek Forever After. She said: “I’m going to miss Fiona a lot. She’s become a part of me.”
But like Fiona, Diaz insists she is used to taking her fate into her own hands, adding: “I’ve been doing that for a long time now. The person I rely on the most is me.”

But according to RadarOnline, her husband Danny Moder was never too far from her thoughts. The pair are about to embark on a no-kids-sojourn to Paris where she is set to take part in a photo shoot for Lancome.
Roberts was in a no-fuss black dress for the ceremony where she was up against Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock for Best Actress in a Motion Picture. Streep won out, but Roberts has her $20million contract as Lancome’s first-ever global ambassadress to look forward to. She and Moder will take a week together in Paris sans kids. The children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 5, and their younger brother, Henry, 2, will stay with family in Los Angeles.
Roberts was also caught taking a swipe at NBC with Tina Fey. She told Access Hollywood: “NBC, you guys are in the toilet right now.” When told she was live on air, she added: “I’m not saying in the toilet, I’m just saying there’s problems.”
Roberts attended the Globes with her agent, Richard Lovett.
Weeds star Elizabeth Perkins has attacked the lack of acting work for women over 40 in Hollywood.
The actress said television is the place for any actress who turns 40 as they don’t demand she inject Botox into her face or undergo extreme dieting.
“The roles are better, there’s more depth to the writing and you don’t have to pump your face full of s*** to get the part. The great thing about it [Weeds] for me is I get to play a viable woman who is still sexually desirable and who is still living her life. I’m almost 50. And I do not want to go through life looking like the Joker,” she added.
Perkins also compared Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles to a modern-day horror show.
“Walking down Rodeo Drive now is like a horror show. You see these 60-year-old women who do not want to look 60. It’s so screwed up.
“When archaeologists dig up people [from today] they will say, ‘ahh this was the generation where people were obsessed with putting things [breast implants, collagen, Botox] in their bodies.’ It will seem as weird to them as people getting ribs removed in the Victorian era seems to us now.”
Hollywood hunk James Franco is set to make a guest appearance on TV hit 30 Rock – as himself.
The 31-year-old actor will be involved in a faux romance with Jenna, played by Jane Krakowski.
Tina Fey, the show’s creator, producer and star, revealed: “Jenna gets into a high-profile relationship with a movie star that is arranged by their agents.”
Franco is currently in LA shooting his first few episodes for US soap opera General Hospital.
