The past weekend marked the end of the highly successful Glee Live tour as the cast took their final bow in Dublin. The weekend prior, they were setting the London O2 Arena on fire with seven sold out shows which paid off with a unique reward. Over the course of their four opening shows, the Glee kids managed to break the venue’s record of the number of people to see a show at The O2 over a weekend. According to officials, the cast performed to more than 66,000 gleeks over two days. I’m not really surprised. Glee is like the little engine that could, except it’s really huge. You get the point. Congratulations guys!

“Glee” was back on TV this week with the episode entitled “Funeral”. If you weren’t reduced to a blubbering fool during this episode, you don’t have much of a heart. Jean, Sue Sylvester’s sister, passed away. With Sue not knowing how to deal with the loss of the only family she considers to have, Kurt and Finn both offered the glee club’s help to make the arrangements and to help Sue as she grieves. I was in tears as Will read Sue’s eulogy for Jean when she couldn’t fight back her own tears. I cried even harder when the New Directions sang “Pure Imagination”, Jean’s favorite song from her favorite movie. After the funeral, we saw Finn break up with Quinn. There were also auditions held for the lead at nationals, with Jesse’s consulting leading to in-fighting, Jesse kissing Rachel with Finn seeing it and Quinn mysteriously saying she has plans for when they get to New York. I can’t wait to see what we’re in for in the finale.

Model Lydia Hearst said her shoot with Alex Pettyfer can’t be blamed for his split with Dianna Agron. Hearst was one of the models he appeared in a risque photo shoot with shortly before he started dating the Glee actress and a report recently claimed the pictures were behind their recent split. However Hearst, who is the daughter of actress Patty Hearst, said the kiss was ‘nothing more than art’. Hearst told TMZ: “I can’t help but laugh because it is nothing more than art, and it is beyond ridiculous that anyone would be upset about it.” She added: “It was a kiss from over a year ago… it’s time to move on.”

“Glee” stars Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch join creator Ryan Murphy on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s current issue. Ryan talked about the business side of the hit TV show and had a few words to say to Kings of Leon. On how the rock band turned down an offer to have their music on the show, Ryan said “F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered a–holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t happening in Glee. Actually, the man behind Finn Hudson, Corey Monteith, is joining a band called Bonnie Dune as their drummer. They will apparently be playing alternative rock and indie rock… you know, the kind of music that actually gives you a little freedom to say what you want to say but also allows you to make a few bucks. It looks like the members of the Glee club sure aren’t time wasters and they do something even when they are on vacation. Hopefully though Corey Monteith will be putting the chopsticks down for a bit when it is time to revisit the Glee club.

Glee star Jane Lynch said she is planning on dressing as Mad Men’s Don Draper for Halloween. The US actress, who plays Sue Sylvester in the musical TV series, said she wants to go as the Mad Men character played by Jon Hamm during the holiday later this month. Speaking to Access Hollywood, she said: “I’m going as Don Draper from TV’s Mad Men. I love Jon Hamm and I love his performance and I got this suit, I’ve got a silver tie and a white shirt and I’m gonna grease my hair back.” Lynch, who recently won an Emmy for her role in the show, has hinted audiences may see her character Sue on an episode of SNL soon. She said: “I know they’re working on a Glee something or other. I might be reprising Sue and I might not. I might be myself, we’ll see.”

Glee Photos:

The latest episode of the TV Series touched on a rather delicate subject: not Christianity, but the appearance of Jesus’ supposed face on diverse articles of food. The Glee team chose a grilled cheese sandwich as their medium and then went on a wild ride of answered and unanswered prayers, of the mysterious ways in which God works and how even an atheist can be touched by prayer. Still they do draw the very important conclusion that God does not communicate through Jesus’ face on food which… and of course, the beauty of the episode is that they sing R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” somewhere through the whole adventure.

Paul McCartney is a big fan of the musical series Glee, and he would like to appear in one of the episodes. According to E! Online, the creator of the show, Ryan Murphy, received a package containing some Paul McCartney CDs. Ryan first thought it’s a joke, but soon discovered a note from Paul McCartney himself, saying “Greetings from Paul”. He loves Paul’s music, because he grew up listening to it. If there will be a collaboration between Paul McCartney and Ryan Murphy, we will sure find out, but there’s no rumor about it yet.
