Kate Hudson is the new face of cosmetics giant Almay.

The Bride Wars actress will appear in television and print adverts for the firm, starting in August.

Hudson, 31, follows in the footsteps of Leslie Bibb and Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, who have also represented the brand.

Years later, after he had retired from Gucci and decided to honour his need to have a voice in the culture by making a movie, he was in search of a script. He could not find one for 18 months but remembered a book by the novelist Christopher Isherwood, A Single Man.

Ford said he had the feeling of being “a kindred spirit” of the late writer. He said: “Now you’re going to think this sounds silly, but our birthdays are one day apart, and at the top of every day is ‘Today I’m going to stop smoking and drinking vodka tonics’. This has been the struggle of my life! Every single day I wake up thinking today I’m going to stop smoking and drinking vodka tonics. I finally did stop smoking.”

Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger has been named the global spokesperson for L’Oreal.

The 33-year-old actress, who recently had a starring role in Quentin Tarantino’s new flick, will represent the brand’s major hair colour, hair care and cosmetics including their new foundation Mat’Morphone.

She said in a statement: “It’s a great honor and a huge pleasure to become a spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

“I admire the brand, not only for the quality and innovation of its products, but also because it represents diversity and excellence across the world, values which are very close to my heart.

“I am, of course, also delighted to be joining the other L’Oreal Paris spokespeople, an extremely talented, widely admired group of people.”

Hudson was set to act as international ambassador for the publisher ACP’s 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty promotion, which runs for a month and has in the past featured Elle Macpherson and Eva Mendes.

But organisers have not been able to fill Hudson’s place with an international name. They have recruited models Alyssa Sutherland, Pania Rose and singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte to launch a variety of events.

ACP’s publishing and sales director Lynette Phillips said: “Kate Hudson was originally considered as the international ambassador for 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty. However, the reasons for not bringing in an international celebrity this year was our change in direction.”

New York fashion icon and rising star Sienna Miller says she would be happy wearing a bin bag right now.

The star who has launched herself into autumn fashion lines ahead of the Manhattan set and drawn attention for doing so, said: “To be honest, at this point of the promotional tour I’d wear a bin bag if it was put in front of me.

“Any sense of my own personal fashion behaviour has gone out of the window.”

Miller has been bouncing around the globe promoting her latest flick GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra.

Lately, however, she has been eating up headlines with her designer fashion statements.

In Tokyo, she boggled fashion minds by turning out in a futuristic metallic spotted pantsuit.

Nicole Richie was spotted waiting for an elevator. She’s looking so stylishly dressed for a pregnant mom to be. I haven’t seen any waif thin pregnant women in my neighbourhood wearing stilettos and clingy dresses like this outfit. She looks like she’s ready to walk the red carpet.

Joel Madden her boyfriend and father of her children tweeted last Friday:

“So Last night I ended up playing poker till 3 a.m. Thank God for my awesome girlfriend who let me sleep in today.”

Seems like they are still in love!

Miley recently had this to say about her boyfriend Justin Gaston:

“I’ve never been closer to the Lord since I met him. He’s really made me read my Bible. He’s made me actually read the stories in the Bible — not the quick little verses — that not only help me, but show you how to help other people.”

So many people, like Miley, read a few verses now and then. Maybe Gaston has her reading entire chapters or books… and then they discuss them together. I have been lectured many times by people who it turns out have read way less of the Bible than I have.

In any case, hopefully when they are having their bible study sessions, he is doing them with his shirt on.

She’s back on the prowl as TMZ is reporting that SaMan changed the locks on her home over the weekend, their photographers took photos of the locksmith, and Lindsay herself just gave this statement to E! News:

Lindsay tells E! News that she has confirmed that she has split up with SaMan. For those of you who follow her Twittering, you’ll most likely know about how upset she was! Here is her brief little statement:

“We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.”

Wonder if what went down on the weekend has anything to do with this little time-out…

Lindsay was not invited to the launching of SaMan’s sister, Charlotte Ronson’s new fashion line with JC Penney over the weekend. Lindsay had to be escorted out of the building by security as SaMan left instructions she was not to be let in.

Sources told OK Magazine Linds even knew she wasn’t supposed to go, but tried anyways to get in and ended up being “restrained from coming in by five security guards.”

Rihanna has arrived back home in Barbados on Friday afternoon (April 3) to celebrate her grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Not sure if I like her bed-head hairdo, but the outfit is fab.

“She’s home,” Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty told People. “She is in good spirits. And she sounds great.”

“She just got in a couple hours ago. I will see her tomorrow,” Fenty told Us. “[We'll] probably do lunch. Of course, I’m happy to have her home. Things are good with her. She is doing really, really well. She’s back to herself again.”

She doesn’t have to attend Chris Brown’s arraignment that’s taking place on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Rumour has it that he will enter a plea to two felony counts. Meanwhile, her people have denied reports she’s not cooperating with prosecutors.

“She will do everything that the law requires her to do,” her lawyer Donald Etra told PEOPLE.

They haven’t been seen together in a couple of weeks. He’s been lying low since they got back from staying together at Diddy’s home in Miami, and she’s been traveling about racking up frequent flyer miles. Hopefully reconnecting with her family will give her some much needed support and unconditional love to build her up for the onslaught of publicity that will happen when she returns to Hollyweird.
