Emma Watson has revealed that she is a believer in ‘less is more’ when it comes to makeup. The Harry Potter actress has insisted that she prefers the natural look when it comes to getting ready for the cameras. “You should never wear too much makeup,” she told Company magazine. “Less really is more. I think the most beautiful people are those who look like they’re not wearing any makeup.” And the usually cool 21-year-old also admitted that she got star struck when she met Matt Damon. “It was ridiculous,” she said. “I’ve met people more famous than he is and been fine. But with him I got all giggly and went red with embarrassment.”

Footballer David Beckham is teaming up with H&M to make a new Bodywear range for men. The 36-year-old dad will be producing his new line for the brand that will exclusively go on sale at the retailer’s 1800 stores in 40 countries around the world. A number of ranges are planned for the new collection but the first will be launched in February next year. Beckham said: “Over the past year, I’ve been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I’m extremely positive about what we have designed and produced. “The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. “In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward, I’m excited and looking forward to showcasing the range to H&M customers from February.”

Carolina Herrera has been named as the designer of Kristen Stewart’s wedding gown in Breaking Dawn. Stewart’s character Bella Swan will be seen getting married to boyfriend Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 later this year when it is released in cinemas. No details have yet been confirmed about the dress but Summit Entertainment has confirmed that Herrera has designed the gown that she wears for her big day in the movie. A message was posted on their Twitter page saying: “On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in BreakingDawnPart1!”

German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has compared newly-wed Kate Middleton to the likes of Lindsay Lohan. Karl believes the 29-year-old young bride is like troubled Hollywood starlet Lohan, 24. He said: “Kate is a young, modern woman. She’s a Lindsay Lohan and she wasn’t going to miss her moment.” However, Lagerfeld, 77, did hail her Alexander McQueen and Sarah Burton wedding dress as ‘elegant and chic’. Commenting on today’s wedding ceremony for French television, he said: “It’s a bridal gown of very refined detail, much more refined than the one Diana wore. “Alexander McQueen’s dresses are always very elegant. It’s very pretty, and relatively classic, but that goes with the decor, with a little touch of the 1950s that recalls Marilyn Monroe or Queen Elizabeth II’s dress. “The lace is pretty, especially the embroidered veil and the tiara not too high, without too heavy a bun. It’s ravishing and the length of the train is perfect.” He added: “It’s all elegant and chic – you don’t need to be born a royal princess to be like that.”

The Bride Wars actress will appear in television and print adverts for the firm, starting in August.

Hudson, 31, follows in the footsteps of Leslie Bibb and Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, who have also represented the brand.

Ford said he had the feeling of being “a kindred spirit” of the late writer. He said: “Now you’re going to think this sounds silly, but our birthdays are one day apart, and at the top of every day is ‘Today I’m going to stop smoking and drinking vodka tonics’. This has been the struggle of my life! Every single day I wake up thinking today I’m going to stop smoking and drinking vodka tonics. I finally did stop smoking.”

Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger has been named the global spokesperson for L’Oreal.

The 33-year-old actress, who recently had a starring role in Quentin Tarantino’s new flick, will represent the brand’s major hair colour, hair care and cosmetics including their new foundation Mat’Morphone.

She said in a statement: “It’s a great honor and a huge pleasure to become a spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

“I admire the brand, not only for the quality and innovation of its products, but also because it represents diversity and excellence across the world, values which are very close to my heart.

“I am, of course, also delighted to be joining the other L’Oreal Paris spokespeople, an extremely talented, widely admired group of people.”

Hudson was set to act as international ambassador for the publisher ACP’s 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty promotion, which runs for a month and has in the past featured Elle Macpherson and Eva Mendes.

But organisers have not been able to fill Hudson’s place with an international name. They have recruited models Alyssa Sutherland, Pania Rose and singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte to launch a variety of events.

ACP’s publishing and sales director Lynette Phillips said: “Kate Hudson was originally considered as the international ambassador for 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty. However, the reasons for not bringing in an international celebrity this year was our change in direction.”

New York fashion icon and rising star Sienna Miller says she would be happy wearing a bin bag right now.

The star who has launched herself into autumn fashion lines ahead of the Manhattan set and drawn attention for doing so, said: “To be honest, at this point of the promotional tour I’d wear a bin bag if it was put in front of me.

“Any sense of my own personal fashion behaviour has gone out of the window.”
