Jesse Metcalfe has admitted that he would love to reprise his role as a hunky gardener in the final series of Desperate Housewives. The 32-year-old rose to fame for playing the often-shirtless green-fingered teenager John Rowland in the first season, and has made several appearances over the years. With the show set to wrap after this season, he told The Sun he feels the time is right to make a return. “I would definitely be open to it. It seems appropriate, seeing as I was part of the birth and the initial success of the show, to bring me back for the final season,” he said. “But we’ll see if there’s interest there. I do think it’s the right time. It was a very successful show and it’ll be forever ingrained in the public consciousness.”

The cast of Desperate Housewives may soon be leaving Wisteria Lane. The upcoming eighth season of the long-running primetime TV series could be its last, according to US reports. TV network ABC and the soap’s producers could make an announcement within the next few weeks, according to the New York Post and TVGuide. But it’s not all bad news for fans, as the show’s creator Marc Cherry and executive producer Bob Daily would “pull out all the stops for a last hurrah” for the show that made stars of Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria. “It’s all dependent on the ratings,” an insider told TVGuide. “It will be up against some stiff competition.” However, an ABC spokesperson told the New York Post that “no decision has been made yet, it seems like people are just guessing”.

Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe has offered to sell his Los Angeles home for $2.2 million. The Mediterranean main house and guesthouse have 2,000 square feet of living space, including three bedrooms and three bathrooms. And there is also a stone hot tub that sits on a hill above the home. The actor bought the property, situated in the Beverly Hills Post Office area, in 2008 for the same price at which it is listed.

Eva Longoria is reportedly looking into adopting a child from Haiti. The Desperate Housewives actress and husband Tony Parker are believed to be considering adopting a child from Haiti or other areas where the children suffer from poverty. An insider told the National Enquirer, “They’re exploring a few different places where children are seeking a home, from poorer areas of Central America to Haiti. They plan to reach a decision soon.” But the couple also hope to have their own children in the not too distant future. The source explained, “Eva wants to start a family now, so they will adopt. But she and Tony plan to get pregnant in a year or so, and maybe have two children that way.”

A rep from the show confirmed the news to Access Hollywood and said he will be starring in several episodes in its next season.

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher is teaming up with Disney for a new ‘chick’s guide to life’ website.

Hatcher, 45, who is best known for her role as Susan Meyer in the hit US show, sees a preview of the new site, GetHatched.com, start soon, with the full website set to open in the spring.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the website is being called ‘a chick’s guide to life’ and is being produced by DisneyFamily.com.

Emily Smith, VP at the Disney Online Mum and Family Portfolio, said the new website is a way to open up its Family.com portfolio to women as well as mothers.

Hatcher, who has a 12-year-old daughter Emerson, already blogs on female empowerment for Glamour UK, as well as Newsweek magazine and Modernmom.com.

She said: “I have a compelling passion to be a woman with other women. We’re the caregivers, the teachers, the lovers.”

She added: “I’m just open and talk about anything, usually with humour, because that’s what gets me through the day. I don’t self-edit.”

Eva’s character Gabrielle Solis stepped 20 years into the future in a dream sequence where she imagined herself as an interfering stage mum hell-bent on making her daughter a famous actress.

The wrinkly Gabrielle shuffled around in a dressing gown as she pleaded with a casting agent to give her reluctant daughter Celia a job.

Teri hid her perfect figure under a fat suit with a couple of extra chins in another fantasy sequence in the episode, screened in America on Sunday night.

Her character Susan considered how her life could have turned out if she had given cheating ex-husband Karl another chance.

And she wondered if she would have ended up piling on the pounds by comfort-eating to cope with Karl’s serial philandering.

Feisty Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria Parker does not gloss over the trials of a working actress.

The 34-year-old said that between her stints on the hit television drama she struggles to find movie roles.

She said: “Even now that I’m on Housewives, it’s not like roles are pouring in. You’re constantly struggling until the end of your career. There are still so many things I want to do.”

Parker was linked to Mario Lopez, before she married basketballer Tony Parker in 2007, but the actor moved to staunch the rumour.

Lopez said: “We get asked that a lot but I’ve known her for a long time and it would seem incestuous. We’re both the same culture, same age, our families both know each other, so we go back. It would be weird. It would never happen.”

Actress Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives fame says her tiny twins have mirrored her own boring dress sense.

Just two-and-a-half, the twin girls, Eden and Savannah, were given free reign over their clothes. But they have chosen to stick to rigid and understated codes, Cross marvels.

She told Ellen DeGeneres on her show: “I thought maybe these girls will have a little something going on. So I was like, ‘Whatever you want to wear’.”

She went on: “I have one who will only wear navy blue from head to toe – that’s Savannah, who we call Savvy. Socks, underwear, leggings, shirt and navy blue ties in her hair. Eden will only wear a green shirt and black pants. It looks like I’m a really boring dresser and now I dress my kids that way, but truthfully it was [their] choice!”

The girls are Cross’s daughters with Tom Mahoney. Cross, despite her words, cuts a very glamorous flame-haired figure on Housewives.
