Taylor Swift has partnered up with Wal-Mart’s Jone’s Apparel Group’s L.E.I. brand to be the face of their spring and fall ad campaign.

L.E.I. executives also came up with a plan to help Taylor create a small collection of sundresses after she expressed an interest and she will have a one-season collection of colorful cotton spring dresses that will be called L.E.I. Sundresses by Taylor Swift. They’ll be shipping exclusively to Wal-Mart stores on Feb. 1, just in time for spring, and they’ll cost $14.00 each.

What a great price.

Group chief executive officer, Jack Gross, said they chose Taylor because she is “someone with a good reputation and someone who we didn’t have to be afraid of getting any sort of bad press.” He added, “She is so famous, but really so grounded. We liked her immediately.”

When it came to designing the dresses, Taylor said,

“We had so many ideas to work from, and it came down to creating dresses that I would wear. If I couldn’t see myself wearing them, I wasn’t interested in making them” and that she found the price appealing because “It was very important for me to create cute, affordable dresses. Especially in these hard times, making expensive dresses just doesn’t make any sense. I go to Wal-Mart all the time. The one in my hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn., is open 24 hours, so I go there a lot to buy DVDs and stuff like that” because her PR person told her to.

Ashlee Simspson wrote this on her blog after reading all of the negative publicity her older sister Jessica has been getting regarding her current weight:

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.

All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.

Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?

Now can we focus on the things that really matter. — Ash”

It’s time for society to start glamourizing healthy/curvy looking women and stop worshipping that anorexic, over-exercised bone rack waif look.

Why criticize women who look like real women?

She said:

“Yes! I did [grow up on a Christmas Tree farm], so this is a good season for me. I was too young to help with the hauling of the trees up the hills and putting them onto cars. So, it was my job to pull off the preying mantis pods off of the Christmas trees. The problem with that is if you leave them on there, people bring them into their house. I forgot to check one time and they hatched all over these people’s house. And there were hundreds of thousands of them. And they had little kids, and they couldn’t kill of them because that’d be a bad Christmas.”

Taylor wasn’t nominated for a Grammy because Fearless came out after the cut off date to be eligible for nomination. She is a talented writer and singer and we should be expecting some wonderful things from her in the coming years. Here is her performance of White Horse on the Tonight Show:

Just read this latest blog entry by Taylor Swift who was recently dumped (by phon) by her ex, Joe Jonas. At the end she says she’s just sitting around eating cool whip and trying to think of things to do with her time… kind of sad isn’t it? I also found it interesting that she was listening to Kelly Clarkson’s song called Low which is about someone doing something low. I wonder if she was thinking that his breaking up over the phone because his “people” told him it was what was best for his career being one of the lowest things to do. Then again, he is still a child and that is what children do. A man would have broken it off face to face.

AMA’s and life.

Hey guys!

I’m so excited, you got me nominated for an American Music Award this year!! I’m nominated in the “Favorite Female Country” category. Thank you so much for making that happen for me again this year!! It’ll be so cool to go to the AMA’s again. I’m performing, and I have so many ideas that we’re working out for the performance. And hey, I’ve never won an AMA before…….. Maybe this year? In other news, I just got back from a 5 show run on the road. Now I’m sitting in my kitchen..on the counter. Eating cool whip. And trying to think of things to do with my free time. Other than talking to my cat and making playlists of sad songs. Sad songs are awesome, by the way. I’m also editing a new video, so expect that to be up here in a few days. Tomorrow I do more album media preparation/interviews/taped performances/blahblahblahh for album release week. Basically what you do around an album release is you start taping things way in advance, so they can air on TV when the album comes out. So we’ve been doing all of that for months. Then my best friend, Abigail, is coming in from college (she’s too far away. I’m trying to convince her this whole college thing needs to work around our friendship and not be so time consuming.) Then this weekend, we play in Nashville with Rascal Flatts. And every day, my album is closer to being OUT. Yesssss.

John Law’s review of Jessica Simpson’s performance at the Avalon Ballroom in Ontario,Canada on Wednesday:

“Simpson needs to explain in exhausting detail what every single song is about, and the endless banter kills any momentum. She’s still living in a reality show, convinced everyone is so fascinated with her personal life, they’d rather hear her talk than sing.”

He went on to describe how Jessica said she was pregnant with an alien and that she also had a message from God about one of her songs. She talked about Tony Romo and slammed Nick Lachey for being a “cheater.”

Jessica even admitted she has a farting problem:

“I do pass gas a lot. I guarantee it smells like roses.”

What is wrong with her? The girl’s gone country.  She farts, she burps, she drinks beer, she talks way too much, and she seems to enjoy wearing gingham way too much.  Every time I see a picture of her rocking gingham fashion it makes me think that she has taken another tablecloth out of her linen closet and sewn herself a new outfit.  Yee haw!
