A missing $30m Andy Warhol portrait of Farrah Fawcett has allegedly been found — hanging above former lover Ryan O’Neal’s bed. The artwork depicting the iconic Charlie’s Angels star was shown hanging in O’Neal’s bedroom in the premiere of the actor’s new reality series Ryan & Tatum: The O’Neals — and looks identical to one of two Warhol pieces that Fawcett reportedly bequeathed to the University of Texas. While one portrait was given to the US university, the other remained unaccounted for — sparking an investigation into the whereabouts of the pop-art piece. The first hint that O’Neal — who was omitted from Fawcett’s will — might have it in his possession came in his daughter Tatum O’Neal’s new autobiography, Found: A Daughter’s Journey Home. The 47-year-old former child star, who won an Oscar at the age of 10 for her performance alongside her father in the 1973 film Paper Moon, mentioned that it was hanging in his home. “On every wall, there are pictures of us and the rest of the family in our golden days,” she wrote. “The original poster from Paper Moon, Andy Warhol’s portrait of Farrah.” According to US reports, officials at the University of Texas have hired a Hollywood private investigator to determine the whereabouts of the artwork. The university has also spoken to Fawcett’s friend, Craig Nevius, a documentary film-maker and producer of Farrah’s Story — a video diary of her cancer battle and final days — who said he believes the picture is the original artwork. “Ryan couldn’t control Farrah in life, so he’s attempting to control her in death,” Nevius said. “Now Ryan’s got Farrah exactly where he wants her — hanging in his bedroom.”
Kim Cattrall has revealed that she will continue to work in England for the foreseeable future because she isn’t viewed as just being her Sex And The City character there. The 54-year-old actress played sexually-empowered PR boss Samantha Jones in the series and said that while it has been hard to shake the typecast, she has managed it in the UK. “In England they aren’t interested in casting me as Samantha. Across the pond they see me as an actress who plays many roles, so I am interested in continuing to work in television and I have a project with the BBC which I am producing,” she told PopEater. And she admitted that it is not the first time in her career that she has had to fight against stigma, having been forced to virtually abandon her theatre work in favour of raunchy comedies, including Porky’s and Police Academy, that helped her pay the bills. “My early career was supporting my theatre habit and there was no way I could pay a loan, never mind my rent on what I was making in theatre,” she explained. “Movies became a way for me to do that and I didn’t take it quite seriously. “For basically four or five days’ work in Porky’s I made enough money to live over an eight month period. I needed the money, I was broke and I made that choice for survival. I didn’t want to go back and be a waitress again.” The actress recently made a movie comeback starring as an ageing porn star in Meet Monica Velour.
Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher has reportedly invested money in a travel booking website. The 33-year-old, who has recently signed on to replace Charlie Sheen in US TV show Two and a Half Men, is said to have invested a large sum into airbnb.com. According to the Los Angeles Times, the site is a place ‘where people can list and book places and things (apartments, sailboats or even the occasional castle) for travelling and vacations.’ Ashton is known to be a huge fan of the Internet and was one of the first celebrities to get involved with social networking website Twitter.
Cameron Diaz has revealed that she doesn’t “care what other people think” about the way she lives her life. In an interview with US Cosmopolitan, the 38-year-old actress says she would never change the way she behaves for a man or anyone else. “I don’t care what other people think. It’s my life, I live it the way I want to,” she says. The Charlie’s Angels star, who appears on the cover of the magazine’s June issue, is currently appearing in new movie Bad Teacher, in which she plays a pot-smoking, over-sexed teacher, and she admitted she enjoyed swearing and being rude to children while making the film. “The best thing was getting to abuse children, none of whom were harmed during the filming,” she jokes. Diaz, who has been dating baseball star Alex Rodriguez for over a year, also revealed that she is not in a hurry to settle down and get married. “Marriage hasn’t been important to me,” she says. “And you can’t have a child just because you think it’s something you are supposed to do.”
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has revealed plans for a three-day festival this summer in aid of charity. The Big Feastival is set to take place on Clapham Common from 1-3 July this year and will combine ‘London’s finest gourmet experience with the look of an urban village fete and a music festival vibe’. The festival, which will be headlined by Soul II Soul, the Charlatans and Athlete, will feature pop-up kitchens from leading restaurants. Chefs Giorgio Locatelli and former Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers, are scheduled to appear at the event. According to British Metro newspaper, Jamie, 35, said: “The Big Feastival is something unique that we have wanted to try for a while. A really good festival for everyone with great music and great food, all for charity.” The profits made from the event will go towards The Prince’s Trust and The Jamie Oliver Foundation to help disadvantaged young people.
Taylor Lautner has revealed he has found peace with the loss of his privacy. The actor, who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight movies, said he is used to the media attention and that he accepts it is a by-product of his work. He told MTV News: “Obviously there’s the loss of privacy and the paparazzi and the media. It comes with the territory and I know that, and I wouldn’t trade it. It just comes with it.” Away from the vampire saga, the 19-year-old is set to star in action thriller Abduction in September.
Charlie Sheen ate burgers with his friends and lawyers while police raided his Beverly Hills home. A US news channel captured the bizarre scene while filming aerial shots from a helicopter flying over the actor’s mansion. The KTLA footage showed Sheen sitting at a table on his patio with pals enjoying the meal. As the group tucked in to dinner, police officers could be seen wandering around the property, searching for guns and ammunition. They were attempting to establish whether the star had violated the terms of a restraining order his estranged wife has against him by owning firearms. Although police refused to reveal their findings, Sheen’s lawyer Mike Gross confirmed that they had discovered an 1800s-era rifle and “a few bullets”. The police raid on Sheen’s home came just hours after the actor filed a $100m lawsuit against Warner Bros and Two and a Half Men producer Chuck Lorre.
Charlie Sheen has been fired from his Two And A Half Men show by bosses at Warner Bros Television, according to reports. The US studio, which produces the hit American TV series, said in a statement that the decision had been made after “careful consideration”. It continued: “Warner Bros Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two And A Half Men, effective immediately.” Sheen’s unpredictable behaviour and headline-making personal life recently caused the US studio to cancel the show for the rest of the remaining season — which in turn, prompted the 45-year-old actor to wage an angry media campaign against his bosses. In the past week, Sheen has made multiple appearances on US TV, as well as posting messages on Twitter and videos on his own internet channel — Sheen’s Korner. “No decision has been made on the future of the series,” Warner Bros said in a statement. The parents of Heath Ledger have said they are ‘very proud’ that a theatre has been opened in the late star’s honour. The State Theatre Centre has opened a new 575-seat auditorium called the Heath Ledger Theatre in his hometown Perth, Australia. And the actor’s parents are sure that he would have liked the building. His dad Kim told the AAP: “I think that Heath would have thought it was magnificent. I have said this before, and we all agree, that he must have been a bird on the shoulder of the architect.” Ledger’s mum added: “It’s a very mixed emotional time for us but ultimately, we are very proud.” The Brokeback Mountain star passed away in 2008 from an accidental drug overdose.
Martha Stewart was forced to get nine stitches after she was headbutted by her pet French bulldog, Francesca. The domestic diva, 69, recounted the incident on her official blog, and posted several images of her going under the knife afterwards. She explained how she “leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca” at her Westchester County, NY, home on Tuesday night. “I must have startled her because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent’s face,” she said. She added: “I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed.” She then went to an emergency room at a hospital near her home to get treated. “I’ll be alright facially. I’m not rushing to get a facelift any time soon!” she wrote later.
