Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s charity foundation is to donate $1million to help victims of the Haiti earthquake.
The Hollywood couple – who have previously visited the country with Fugees star Wyclef Jean – vowed to do all they could to help after a devastating 7.0-magnitude quake hit the impoverished Caribbean nation.
“It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” said Jolie in a statement.
Pitt added: “We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes and are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care.”
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the funds to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Its three hospitals in the capital Port-au-Prince were severely damaged, forcing the staff to work out of open-air hospitals.
Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could come face to face – in a sexual harassment lawsuit against their agent.
Lawyers for a woman suing Todd Shemarya want to take testimonies from the trio as part of their attempt to stop her case being dismissed.
Heather Devlin, one of Shemarya’s former employees, claims he made vulgar jokes about celebrities at work and subjected her to a barrage of offensive sexual comments.
She has filed a sexual harassment and wrongful dismissal suit against the Hollywood agent and his company, Todd Shemarya Artists Inc.
Devlin’s representatives hope testimony from Aniston, her ex-husband Pitt and his current partner Jolie will back up their case.
Earlier this month Aniston was served with a subpoena asking her to testify in the court case as a third-party witness.
But Shemarya’s lawyers say the legal papers were not properly served to the Friends star and that she therefore should not have to testify.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had a recent movie night with their six children and watched Karate Kid.
Pitt, 45, recently attended an industry screening and Q&A for his movie Inglourious Basterds in Hollywood.
The screening was also attended by 1984 classic Karate Kid director John G Avidsen and when he asked a question, Pitt said: “We just watched Karate Kid with the kids.”
Pitt and girlfriend Jolie, 34, have six children together – Maddox, eight, Pax, five, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 months.
Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have designed a jewellery collection to raise money for a children’s charity.
The power couple have teamed up with UK jeweller Asprey and designed the new Protector Collection for women and children – all proceeds will be donated to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
A source said: “During Angelina’s first pregnancy with Shiloh, someone gave her a protective snake ring to guard her and her unborn child.”
It is claimed that she kept the ring and wore it again during her pregnancy with twins Knox and Vivienne.
The price range for the collection starts at £312 for a silver spoon with a snake-shaped handle and also includes pendants, bracelets, rings and an egg cup.
Eating noodles with a beard turned out to be the Pitts for Hollywood star Brad Pitt.
The Se7en star had to be schooled in eating noodles on Japanese TV last night.
The actor appeared on popular chat show Smap X Smap along with director Quentin Tarantino, to promote Inglourious Basterds, which opens in Japanese cinemas on 20 November.
But Pitt’s facial hair clearly got in the way as he tried to slurp soba noodles through his braided beard, causing him to ask the hosts: “What’s the trick to eating noodles here? You just slurp them?”
During the show, Pitt struggled to get a word in over motor-mouth Tarantino, prompting one of the Smap hosts to hold Tarantino’s hands while telling him to calm down in Japanese – much to Pitt’s amusement.
But Pitt defended him, saying: “You can’t tame him, you can’t tame him.
“If you tether him, we all lose… don’t chain my man!”
Unscathed by his motorbike tumble, Brad Pitt has repaired with Angelina Jolie to an intimate Italian restaurant for a cosy dinner date.
The Hollywood power couple were seen out in Tinseltown together dressed in black. They were seen to hold hands as they walked together and appeared to be having fun.
The sighting showed Pitt was no worse for wear after the accident. Circumstances around the incident remain hazy but one report said his mirror was clipped by another vehicle, while others claimed he was nudged forward by a paparazzo.
Pitt has taken a second set of digs in LA and is also keen on a man cave he reportedly keeps at his family home with Jolie.
The couple, whose relationship was said to be straining, have six children ranging from 15 months to eight years old.
Amid claims Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are about to end their relationship, Pitt has sought the counsel of his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.
Pitt and Aniston held a secret meet-up at a New York hotel, the second such pow-wow in the city this year. A source told a US celeb magazine: “She arrived at his hotel suite a matter of hours after they had spoken. Brad was unloading his emotional baggage on Jen, which isn’t exactly fair considering their history.”
Pitt was staying at the Essex House Hotel next to Central Park. The source added: “She was quick to tell him she wanted no part in his breakup with Angelina.”
Aniston was said to be initially loath to meet with Pitt, who was in the US to sit on a green energy panel with former US president Bill Clinton. He was accompanied by his son, Maddox.
Pitt is said to have rallied his mother, Jane, to the cause and got her to persuade her former daughter-in-law to agree to the tete-a-tete. Aniston was said to be brutally honest, telling Pitt he was being selfish and had to figure things out. Later that day Brad flew back to France, where he shares a US$55.6 million chateau with Jolie and their six children.
Some reports have Pitt moving to Berlin. He has recently purchased bachelor digs in Los Angeles as an apparent respite from a family home the couple keeps there.
Actress Jennifer Aniston has recently burst into tears after a scene reminded her of ex Brad Pitt.
The He’s Just Not That Into You star, 40, was recently filming in New York and while in her trailer she told an assistant she was crying because something reminded her of Brad.
A source told The New York Post that Aniston said: “I need a moment. This scene reminds me of Brad and me.”
This unhappy scene happened while the former Friends star was filming for The Bounty with hunk Gerard Butler.
Jen married Brad, 45, back in 2000, but the pair divorced in 2005 and Pitt got involved with actress Angelina Jolie.
Aniston managed to put a smile back on her face while on set and emerged from her trailer.
The insider added: “While she enjoyed flirting with Gerard on set and put a brave face on every day, privately she is still very fragile.”
Beefcake Daniel Craig has taken out top honours for the best body in a movie part in an online poll of star torsos.
The Lovefilm poll put the 007 actor at 34 percent of overall votes, while Sean Connery came in fifth. Number two went to Hollywood hot property Gerard Butler, a Scottish actor recently linked to Jennifer Aniston, for his role in 300.
Brad Pitt’s role of Achilles in Troy ranked him at third.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Russell Brand made it onto the list, as did American comic Hank Azaria for a role as a hunky beach-resort diving instructor in Along Came Polly.
The beach-based roles of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Beach, Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii and Jan-Michael Vincent in surf classic, Big Wednesday, were also recognised.
Quentin Tarantino revealed he and megastar Brad Pitt drank five bottles of wine before striking a deal over hit movie Inglourious Basterds.
The Oscar-winning director visited Pitt at the luxury French mansion he shares with Angelina Jolie, where they sat drinking and discussing the WW11 film until after 3am in his vineyard.
The Kill Bill director appeared on the Late Show With Conan O’Brien, where he was quizzed over rumours that he got Pitt drunk so he would agree to play the lead role.
“We did get drunk, but I didn’t get him drunk to say yes to this movie,” said Tarantino.
“He wanted to talk to me about this movie so I went to see him. He lives in France – on a vineyard. So yes we did drink, it was his wine.
“Cut to 3.40am and we are both drunk, we both have to pass out because we’re too stupoured and there were five bottles.
“The two of us together drank five bottles.
“We woke up in the morning and he had committed to doing the movie.”
