David Beckham’s sister Lynne joined an angry protest after the star’s football academy was closed.
Lynne, 37, joined others to protest about the closing outside the academy and said: “There are a hell of a lot of disappointed kids.
“David’s upset, but we haven’t spoken about it this week because of our grandad’s funeral. I don’t think it’s his doing. I don’t know where to send my kids. It will be a big loss.”
Over 300 angry parents signed a petition demanding that Beckham, 34, scrap plans to close the academy in Greenwich, south London.
However, the LA Galaxy player and the academy’s co-owners AEG said it could not extend the lease on the ground and Becks’ spokesman said there were no plans to move.
David Beckham suffered penalty-shoot-out heartbreak with the LA Galaxy Sunday as his team lost the MLS Cup Final.
The 34-year-old England midfielder saw his side lose 5-4 on penalties, despite burying his own, in an intriguing encounter in Seattle at the Qwest Field stadium.
Beckham showed from the off he was up for the game, clattering Real Salt Lake’s Argentinean midfielder Javier Morales, who was forced to leave the field in tears in the 22nd minute.
Then, on 41 minutes, Beckham was involved in Galaxy’s opener, feeding a pass to US striker Landon Donovan on the right who floated a cross to Mike Magee who side-footed his team home.
Disaster struck for Galaxy at the 64th minute when RSL’s US international Robbie Findlay swept the ball home after a scramble in the box.
When no goals were scored in extra-time, the match went to penalties. Beckham was the first player to step up and he swept the ball home and punched the air with delight.
However, teammates Landon Donovan, Jovan Kirovski and Edson Buddle missed their attempts in an eventful shoot-out, as LA Galaxy failed to win the trophy.

Footballer David Beckham is reportedly set to star in a new ad campaign with Arnold Schwarzenegger to boost tourism in California.
David, 34, will reportedly be seen playing football on a beach in LA for the ads, which will also feature Arnold, the state governor, and actor Rob Lowe.
A source said: “It will be a massive campaign. It shows the governor believes David is a big catch in getting tourists to visit.”
However David was recently booed during a comeback match for club LA Galaxy but in a later match scored in a game against Barcelona.
The source added: “David has had some stick recently, but is doing what he does best – playing good football and scoring goals.”

That being said, upon closer inspection, her feet really are not posh. She has a major bunion, which must be painful, and her pinky toes seem to be the kind that don’t have much of a nail to paint.
Seeing her without heels… she really is petite, I wonder if she is enjoying knowing now what it feels like to have her feet ALL touch the ground at the same time.
Does Posh think she is walking on a catwalk? Does the woman think she is Supermodel? Is this why every time she steps out in public she struts and poses like she is at a fashion show?
Does she live her life solely to be the center of attention? Is this what this outfit is about?
I have no doubt that she adores her children and hubby David but it’s painfully obvious that her Raison d’être is her love of fashion.
Does she think she is an icon? This picture makes her look like a fashion victim… but I can’t help but love the cheek of her. How she parades around in public with that poker straight face amuses me!
Victoria Beckham thought she’d dress in disguise to catch a departing flight to Los Angeles at Heathrow Airport in London on Saturday. Didn’t work, everyone knew who she was because there is no denying she has impeccable style and is always dressed to the nines.
Victoria and hubby David recently exchanged hand-carved gold and silver Japanese talisman pendants to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary which isn’t until next July. How romantic they’re already celebrating 8 months early!
Victoria told Vogue:
“The energy they emit is incredibly powerful. These pieces act as talismans of love, healing and protection… They were hand carved by a master carver in Japan, who spends most days in meditation before working.”
Victoria’s spokeswoman has issued a statement dismissing the reports of a “terrifying car crash” that the couple were supposedly involved in last Friday night in France. I didn’t believe it anyways because David was at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics in Beijing Sunday night.
“There was no car crash,” Cheryl Maisel said in a statement to the New York Daily News. “David and Victoria Beckham were driving a car that had been scratched the day before when it had been left parked at the airport – they were not involved in any accident at all. There was no police, no crash, no paparazzi chase, etc. – just very incorrect reports via Internet gossip sites,” she said.
Victoria is expected to leave France for New York to attend Fashion Week which starts on September 5th.

On a side note Posh’s hubby is the world’s most famous footballer, and he finally won his much prized 100th cap for England. Sadly his team was defeated 1-0 against France at the Stade de France in Paris on Wednesday.

He had this to say: “It’s a huge achievement. To reach 100 caps is a big thing, especially in English football, and I’m very proud of that,” he said.
“Getting 100 caps doesn’t happen every day, and to have my family here and my friends and the support of the fans was incredible.
“The reception was amazing, from both sets of fans. You expect it from your own fans and I thank them for that, but also the French people as well – it was an amazing standing ovation. I’m very proud of that because if there was another place after Wembley I would like the game to be, it was here. It’s one of my favourite cities.”
Here is Victoria and David Beckham is some awful looking colors! I am not sure why they would even walk out of the house! You would think one of them would spot the others fashion flaw and call them on it! Feast your eyes on this puke green, and wine color. Why does Posh’s face look so shiny?! I wonder if she is having face lifts already.
