I’m so relieved. The internet had been buzzing with rumours that Jive records were supposedly going to be giving the boys the axe! It’s so not true!

A spokesperson for Jive Records made the following statement: “Reports about Jive Records dropping Backstreet Boys are completely untrue. The group is about to embark on a worldwide tour in support of their album, Unbreakable, starting Feb. 16 in Toyko, as well as some high profile television appearances.”

Apparently Lance Bass came out of the closet to none other than Britney Spears first. You would think that Britney wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut, but I guess she did.

Here is Lance’s reaccount of the event

Her manager had already gotten rid of [her first husband] Jason [Alexander] - they’d flown him home. Britney was upset about what she had done. I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap. I felt the need to share something. So I sat her on my bed, and I’m like, Well, I’m gay!” Spears was “surprised. I was always the Southern gentleman.”
