Melrose Place star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz said she was “thrilled” to meet one of the show’s original cast members, Heather Locklear.
Ashlee, 24, plays the role of Violet Foster in the 2009 remake of the 90s TV show.
Heather, 47, appeared in the original TV series and it was recently revealed that she will be making a comeback and will make her first appearance in an episode to air on November 17.
Ashlee said to PEOPLE: “We’re all really thrilled that Heather is coming back! Of course we are – she was kind of the heart of the show.
“It’s been great to have a lot of the original cast, and to have Heather join is really incredible. I’m excited!”
She added: “I’m really looking forward to meeting her.”
Ashlee Simspson wrote this on her blog after reading all of the negative publicity her older sister Jessica has been getting regarding her current weight:
“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.
All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.
Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?
Now can we focus on the things that really matter. — Ash”
It’s time for society to start glamourizing healthy/curvy looking women and stop worshipping that anorexic, over-exercised bone rack waif look.
Ashlee Simpson has gone back to blonde after leaving a hair salon in West Hollywood on Friday. I was just starting to like her auburn look… oh well. I would guess she isn’t breast-feeding her baby anymore, since I don’t believe one is supposed to get their hair dyed if they are.
USA Weekend recently sat for a chat with her hubby Pete Wentz about being a new daddy to their son Bronx, who is now 4 weeks.
He talked about his love of reading, and what stories he’ll read to his boy:
Growing up, my parents OD’d me on the library, and I was pretty loaded up when it came to children’s books. I definitely can’t wait to read some of my favorites, like “Goodnight Moons,” “The Little Prince” and the “Mr. Men and Little Miss” books. I know that we already picked up the 50th anniversary copy of “Paddington Bear,” which is a great one.”
Ashlee and hubby Pete were the guests of honor at the Bel-Air Hotel’s Palm Room yesterday. A baby shower was held for them by big sister Jessica and mom Tina. According to Star magazine, the shindig was co-ed and there were about 40 guests.
The appetizers included: crabcakes, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, jicama salad with grapefruit and a bumble bee-shaped cake. An insider who was a guest at the party told the magazine:
“The room was decorated with yellow and orange roses, and guests were given jars of honey with custom-made labels that said ‘Baby Wentz’ and ‘Thank You For Celebrating My Life’ on them.”
The guest went on to add:
“The girls were also given bracelets that had a big bumble bee on them.”
The place must have been ‘buzzing’ with excitement!
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s baby will be arriving soon, and they are happily setting up the nursery making sure they have all the necessary essentials. A friend told Life & Style:
“She’s having a last-minute baby shower tomorrow, The location is top secret. They’ll send out an e-mail to all invited guests early Saturday morning. She was eyeing the Bel-Air Hotel in LA — but no one will know exactly until tomorrow morning. This could be the last chance for everyone to see Ashlee before she becomes a mom.”
Rather interesting… if it’s supposed to be top secret, why tell a magazine that it’s on and what day? Why not ‘leak the tidbit of news’ after the shower is over? Makes me wonder about these so called ‘friends, insiders, unnamed sources’ telling secrets for money … !
Excited daddy to be, Pete recently told Ryan Seacrest:
“I am on call permanently right now. She’s at the very end, and it could happen at any point.”
Pete Wentz thinks that there are rumors going around that Ashlee is knocked up. I don’t know if I have been out of the looop but I haven’t noticed any during my web surfing. Either way I don’t think Ashlee is pregnant yet, but I am sure her baby clock is ticking considering all the others stars are having babies, almost like it is the ‘thing to do’.
“There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. … I mean really, this is crazy. … I mean we’re engaged, that’s true, and happy about it.”
The scoop is that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged! Source said “He got down on one knee and she said yes,” a family friend says. “She has an amazing ring, and they are so in love.”
Ashlee just released an official statement saying, “We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes – it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us.”
Looks like its official… congrats Pete and Ash I hope you guys last for a very long time!
Here is Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz loving life together. I am really glad that they are still a couple, because we can’t have Ashlee going down poor Jessica’s path. I am not a fan of Ashlee’s new hair colour, that girl better get back to blonde soon. I am really digging Ashlee’s new tracks for her new album coming out. Her out of my head song is super catchy. It is currently stuck in my head.
Ashlee Simpson’s new song Outta My Head is now available online .This is from her third, still untitled studio album currently being produced by Timbaland. Kara DioGuardi, The Neptunes, Kenna, John Legend, will.i.am, P. Diddy and Pharrell. are collaborating with her on it, and I can’t wait to hear more since she hasn’t released an album since 2005’s I Am Me.
Ashlee Simpson went to Miami Beach, FL to party with her boy Pete Wentz. He was asked to host the Belvedere Halloween Bash on Thursday at the Miami hot spot Cameo Night Club. Check out the tongue tango he’s doing with Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes. Looks like Pete made sure to spread his luvin’ around and pose for a snuggle shot with her. Doesn’t look like they dressed up on costume though, and if they did…not sure what look they were going for!
