Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has claimed she will ‘never be as good’ as her own mother – the late Marcheline Bertrand – but she’ll try her best for her six kids. The 36-year-old, who raises six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, with partner Brad Pitt – will try to be a great parent to her children but doesn’t think she’ll ever be as good a mum as Marcheline, who died in 2007. In an interview with US TV show 60 Minutes, Jolie said: “My mother was a full-time mother. She didn’t have much of her own career, her own life, her own experiences. Everything was for her children. “I will never be as good a mother as she was. I will try my best, but I don’t think I ever will be. She was the most generous, loving woman. She is better than me.” Bertrand passed away in 2007 aged 56 after an eight-year battle with ovarian cancer.
The haggis has reportedly proved to be too much for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their quest to enjoy all things Scottish, thanks to the haggis. The Hollywood couple and their six kids are currently staying in Ayrshire while Brad films World War Z nearby, and ventured out for a family meal on Monday. But only son Maddox, ten, was brave enough to take on the traditional dish, which features sheep hearts, livers and lungs wrapped in the animal’s intestine. A source told the Scottish Sun, “Ayrshire’s Burns country so it was a fitting way to celebrate a great time here. But it was only Maddox who took a shine to the Haggis.”
While Brad Pitt films World War Z in London, Angelina Jolie has been keeping herself busy by taking her girls toy-shopping. The 36-year-old actress and her daughters Zahara, six, and Shiloh, five, called in to The Toy Station, near their rented home in the suburb of Richmond on Monday. They stocked up on sticker kits, tattoo transfers, craft making accessories, Play-Doh, dress-up accessories, “Ben 10″ action figures, cowboy guns and a soap-making kit for the rest of the six-strong brood. Store owner Karen Khatchik told Us Weekly that the Hollywood star has called in a few times. “They are a lovely family and we have really enjoyed their visits. “The children are all so well behaved. They’ll point things out to Angelina and she’s always interested in what they have to say. “She doesn’t spoil the children. They are always allowed to buy a few things, but mostly small items. She doesn’t do things over the top. “I told Angelina that Shiloh is adorable and the spitting image of her father. She smiled and agreed with me.” A source explained that the family is set to leave for Glasgow, Scotland soon for the next stage of filming, and, “Angelina wanted to buy items for the children that would keep them entertained when they leave.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly planning to take a low-key holiday in Cornwall. The couple have apparently decided to take their brood to the British get-away while Brad films World War Z in London. But in keeping with A-list celebrity style, the family will be shunning local bed and breakfasts in favour of a super yacht, The Sun reported. A source said, “Brad thought the family might as well have a holiday while he’s shooting World War Z. “Cornwall is a little different from their usual destinations, but they’ve heard lots of good things about the county. “Staying on a yacht will mean they’ll be able to visit various seaside towns so the kids won’t get bored. “They’re all really looking forward to it.”
A new book details the romance that allegedly developed between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The A-list couple has always denied that their love affair began while they shot the 2005 action movie together, while Pitt was still married to ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. The unauthorized book by Joseph Gelman and Meir Doron is based on the life of former Israeli secret agent turned Hollywood mogul Arnon Milchan. “Milchan introduced Pitt to Jolie and immediately sensed that there was a spark between them,” they write in the book. “A passionate romance ensued, with one slight problem, Pitt was married to Aniston. When Aniston kicked Pitt out of the house, all hell broke loose.”
Heart throb Johnny Depp described on US television how Angelina Jolie’s pet bulldog ‘made a pass at him’. The Sweeney Todd star told David Letterman that he met Jolie for the first time on the set of their film The Tourist. He said she was a “very down to earth, sweet, funny, smart and normal girl” but that she asked him one night to look after her British Bulldog, Jacques. Dad-of-two Johnny said: “We were having dinner and there was a little wine involved and Angelina said you should take Jacques to your room and watch him for the night. “The dog reeks, stinks real bad. “We [some other crew members] hoisted the dog onto the bed. “Then as I lean over to take off my boots, 175lbs of girth is hurled at me, which feels like about 300lbs. “And it’s a friendly pass but he was preparing to have his way with me.”
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie is set to meet with refugees in southern Turkey during a tour of camps set up on the border to house 8500 Syrians. The Syrian refugees fled a government crackdown on the country’s pro-democracy movement. The 36-year-old and goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is thought to be arriving in to the Turkish province of Hatay today. In April, The Tourist actress visited Tunisia during its refugee crisis as thousands fled from its war-torn neighbour, Libya.
Big-hearted Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated half a million dollars to help the struggling victims of the recent devastating Joplin tornado. The generous Hollywood couple handed over $500,000 to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, which will help to rebuild the area in Missouri which was devastated by the natural disaster. Pitt – who is a Missouri native and also attended the state’s university – issued a statement about the donation. He said: “With the devastating loss of 30 per cent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. “Having spent most of my childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient. “The locally based Community Foundation of the Ozarks will be working shoulder to shoulder with these Joplin residents for the long haul as they rebuild their lives. We, too, hope to further help with these rebuilding efforts.” Jolie added: “Our hearts go out to the families in Joplin who have lost so much.” The pair are famous for their hefty donations to charity and have given millions of dollars to good causes over the last few years.
Hollywood star Brad Pitt has said that he knows his huge family with Angelina Jolie “seems extreme from the outside”, but it’s what he has always wanted. The 47-year-old actor and Jolie, 35, are parents to six kids — Maddox, eight, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, four, and twins Knox and Vivienne, two. While promoting his new film Tree Of Life at the Cannes Film Festival, Pitt told the Associated Press: “I know that it seems extreme from the outside, but I have always kind of operated this way. When I know, I know, and why mess around?” He added: “I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid. I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mum making pancakes for everyone, or the dad making pancakes. “I just decided then if I was ever going to do it — this left some indelible mark on me — if I was ever going to do it, that’s the way I was going to do it.”
Angelina Jolie is reportedly so upset by her ‘ageing’ face that she refuses to look in the mirror. The 35-year-old is said to be struggling with news from a top Los Angeles surgeon that no-one is asking to look like her anymore. Dr Richard Fleming surveyed 1,200 of his Hollywood patients and told Now! magazine, “Nobody’s asking to look like Angelina now. “They all want to look like Anne Hathaway or Penélope Cruz.” And a source told the magazine that the mother-of-six has taken the findings to heart. “She’s devastated by the news and now, when she looks in the mirror, all she sees are her imperfections. “In her mind her pores are too big, her eyes have crow’s feet, her smile has too many lines, her forehead is wrinkled – the list is endless. “It’s not half as bad as she thinks, but no one can convince her otherwise.”
