David and Victoria Beckham are to be invited to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to reports. According to UK newspaper the Sunday Mirror, the 35-year-old football star and William, 28, have become friends as they lead England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup. A source told the newspaper: “David texted William as soon as he heard [about the wedding], and William told him an invite was on its way. “David and Victoria were both thrilled and can’t wait.” The 36-year-old former Spice Girls singer and her hubby will reportedly join a host of celebrities, including Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney, for the wedding at Westminster Abbey on 29 April next year. President Obama and wife Michelle are also said to be on the guest-list, which will be officially announced at the end of February.
David Beckham is flying to Zurich to put his support behind England’s bid to become the host of the 2018 World Cup. The 35-year-old footballer is taking a trip to the city along with Prime Minister David Cameron and Prince William as Fifa prepare to announce which country will host the event in eight years time. Beckham said: “Hopefully I will make a difference. We are going to Fifa because we need to tell them why we feel it’s the right thing for us to get the World Cup.” The footballer, who plays for US team LA Galaxy, recently visited the 2012 Olympic Stadium with Lord Coe.
Things are about to get serious in the feud between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. The veteran rapper has responded to the latest comments that the young up and coming hip hop star has made. Machete star Jessica Alba said she has ‘dorky’ parties with her mum friends once their children are in bed. Alba, 29, is mum to two-year-old daughter Honor with her husband Cash Warren and said she has got crazier since she became a mum. Speaking to UK newspaper Metro, she said: “Oddly, I think I’m a little more wild since I had Honor because once she’s in bed all my mum friends come over and we have dance parties at my house. “It’s really dorky and I probably wouldn’t have done that before. But no, I don’t go out. I hang out with my friends and I’m pretty chilled.” The actress added that she is a strict mum with her little girl. She said: “I’m very strict with her. She’s healthy and on a schedule. We eat organic, our house is all green, we don’t waste. It’s more about having as green a house for my daughter as possible.”
Michael Douglas has been snapped enjoying a fun-filled holiday with his family. The actor is currently battling a stage-four throat tumour. He looked happy and healthy and posed for pictures with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and children Carys, seven, and Dylan, 10, at the Epcot Centre in Florida on Wednesday. The 66-year-old’s rep, Allan Burry, told People that the couple “are very happy and thankful the way things are going this Thanksgiving.” Douglas underwent eight weeks of chemotherapy and radiation and has since been recuperating at the family home in New York. His actor father, Kirk, told Entertainment Tonight that his son is feeling ‘very good’ and ‘much stronger now’.
Sandra Bullock’s rep has denied reports that the actress is planning to adopt a little girl. The 46-year-old actress became a mum for the first time earlier this year when she adopted baby Louis from New Orleans. America’s Star magazine recently quoted a source as saying the actress ‘knows one is not enough. She can’t wait to relive this whole experience with another child – this time she wants a girl’. It was also claimed Bullock was using the same New Orleans adoption agency where she found her son Louis. The source added: “They already have the initial paperwork from the first time around, and they have several children who need homes now.” However a rep for the actress told Gossip Cop that the magazine’s article is ‘completely false’.
Single White Female star Jennifer Jason Leigh has split from director husband Noah Baumbach. Leigh, 48, had been married to the director for five years and they have a son Rohmer Emmanuel, seven months, together. According to E! Online, the reason for the split is not yet known but Leigh recently filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court. Leigh, who filed the papers under her legal name Jennifer Morrow, put September 2, 2005, as the marriage date but put the date of the separation as TBD. The actress is seeking full physical custody of their son as well as spousal support however she wants her hubby to have visitation rights.
Actress Anna Friel said Brooke Shields saved her at a premiere when she had a wardrobe malfunction. Friel, 34, lives in LA with her partner David Thewlis and daughter Gracie and said she recently had an embarrassing moment on the red carpet. She said to UK newspaper Evening Standard: “I recently sat in some water on my way to the red carpet for the premiere of Land of the Lost in LA. I had a huge wet patch right where I shouldn’t have. “Brooke Shields sidled up and whispered: ‘Honey, I’ve got your back, just don’t turn around!’” The star added that when she comes back to the UK she loves to take a trip in the British countryside. She said: “[Home is] Windsor, in a lovely house at the foot of the long walk up to the castle. “I love returning after stints in LA and getting out for a bracing early morning walk with Gracie, my daughter, letting the wind rip through us.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly donated $150,000 to an adoption charity. The high-profile couple, who have adopted three children themselves, gave the significant sum to SOS Children’s Villages, USA, to mark National Adoption Day, Fox News reported. The cash from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation will be used to help find good homes for foster children who can’t return to live with their biological parents. CEO of SOS Children’s Villages, Heather Paul, praised the parents-of-six for their support. “I am truly thankful that Angelina and Brad understand the power of family the kind of stable family that SOS holds as an essential part of healthy child development,” she said. “Angelina and Brad know that children’s need for a family is universal.”
