Jenny McCarthy has revealed how she split from actor Jim Carrey after their relationship lost its “fun” factor. The former Playboy model told chat show host Oprah Winfrey how they began questioning their romance after the fun element disappeared. “When it’s not fun anymore, you need to start investigating and do an inquiry into the relationship,” she said. McCarthy, 37, split from 48-year-old Carrey in April this year after dating for five years. The couple insisted the break-up was amicable, with McCarthy saying she would “always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart”. Carrey added that he was grateful for the “many blessings” they had shared. McCarthy, who has an eight-year-old son Evan with ex-husband John Asher, has now discussed their split further during an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s US talk show. Oprah caught McCarthy off-guard by asking whether she and Carrey could get back together. “God, another good question,” the model said. “I didn’t even think about that one.”

Amy Winehouse recently took to her Twitter to announce the end of her professional relationship with producer Mark Ronson. According to the singer’s tweets, he was dead to hear and she wanted nothing to do with him since she saw him as riding her coattails. Mark was confused about all this when he was asked to comment especially since not even two hours after declaring her hatred towards him, Wino tweeted how she loved him. Mark is staying quiet as to what may have caused the fight between them, saying that they will handle things privately and cleared up that he knows he owes everything to his work with Wino. Mark said “I’ve always been really candid about saying that Amy is the reason I am on the map. If it wasn’t for the success of Back To Black, no one would have cared too much about Version (Ronson’s second album).”
Michael Douglas believes that his throat cancer was brought on by stress. The Hollywood legend is battling a stage-four tumour. He saw his son Cameron, 41, jailed for five years after pleading guilty in New York to drug dealing. Speaking to The Mirror newspaper, the 65-year-old admitted that he has always played hard. 0ne of the main causes of throat cancer are drinking and smoking, but that he thinks the added stress tipped him over the edge. He said, “This type of cancer can be brought on by alcohol and tobacco abuse and by a certain type of sexually transmitted reason, but I look at it as stress. I’ve had a pretty stressful year on a number of fronts, some of which were public and some of which weren’t. “I’ve always worked hard and played hard and I’m sure I’ll be cleaning up my act in the future. But I’m still looking forward to a good glass of wine when I get my taste buds back. “These are the cards you get dealt and the timing sucks.” But he is getting through the eight-week course of chemotherapy and radiation by focusing on the 10th anniversary of his wedding to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 40, in November.
Eat Pray Love star Julia Roberts believes guys ‘don’t care about’ what women look like naked. Roberts, 42, wasn’t worried about putting on weight for her new movie, in which she stars opposite actor Javier Bardem. She said to UK newspaper The Sun: “I gained ten pounds for this movie and I thought I’d hurt myself trying to get my jeans on. “I packed on the weight during the Italy part of the shoot, but then people said: ‘Oh, you’ll lose it when you film in India.’ Somehow I didn’t get that memo. “But I also believe that guys don’t care about what you look like naked. Anyway, that’s what dimmer switches are for!” Roberts has been married to hubby Danny Moder for eight years and they have three children together – twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, five, and Henry, three.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian should get an older man, according to her sister. Khlo, who is married to basketball player Lamar Odom, has given some advice to her 29-year-old sister about who she should date. Khlo told E!Online at yesterday’s Axe’s One Night Only concert with Weezer: “Get a man… no boys!” The 26-year-old added: “I think [she needs] the complete opposite of what she has, like an older businessman… late thirties, early forties.” The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star married Lamar back in September 2009.
Mel Gibson says Jodie Foster is a “buddy who would stick up for you” in the same interview in which the actress defends him. Speaking to More magazine in May to promote The Beaver a new movie directed by Foster the 54-year-old actor said: “We’re pretty tight. “She’s a really kind and compassionate human being and you don’t say that about too many people. “Before, she was like a buddy who would stick up for you. Now that she’s a mother, she’s like a mother who would stick up for you.” Gibson spoke to the US magazine a couple of months before the controversial racist and sexist comments that he was alleged to have made during an argument with his ex-lover, Oksana Grigorieva, were released to the media via a series of audiotapes. The Silence of the Lambs star, who appears on the cover of the October issue of the US women’s magazine, was asked about the actor twice once before the tapes became public and again after the scandal made headlines. As More was going to press, the 47-year-old mother-of-two reportedly said: “When you love a friend, you don’t abandon them when they are struggling. “Of course, Mel is an undeniably gifted actor and director But, more importantly, he is and has been a true and loyal friend. I hope I can help him get through this dark moment.” Before the scandal, she made equally glowing comments about the father-of-eight, who she first worked with on the 1994 movie Western Maverick. She said: “The second I met him, I said, ‘I will love this man for the rest of my life.’”
Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss’s ties to the Church of Scientology contributed to the break-up of her marriage to Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen, according to reports. The actress filed for divorce in Los Angeles this week, signalling the end of their marriage after less than year, citing irreconcilable differences. According to a friend of the 28-year-old, her faith proved a sticking point for the couple. “Her religion was as important to her as their marriage, if not more,” the friend told Us magazine. “He could not get with it.” A source says both performers are moving on and that Moss is fine is with Armisen’s new relationship with his co-star Abby Elliot.
Modern Family star Sofia Vergara claims she ran naked through the streets of Los Angeles after her hit TV show won an award. Producers of the US sitcom took out an ad in trade bible Variety promising that the actress would run naked down Sunset Boulevard if the show won a Best Comedy award at the Emmys. It did and 38-year-old Vergara claims she honoured their promise. She said: “Immediately when they announced that [we] had won, the security grabbed me, they put me in my SUV, I went and did the run and came back, but everyone was watching the Emmys, so they didn’t see me. “But I did it, it was really good, I looked really good!” The Colombian-born actress also joked that her accent and image as a hot Latina was all faked. She told US TV show Good Morning America: “The truth is, I’m from Idaho. This is all self-tanner, fake hair colour [But I] am blonde. Everyone in my family is blonde with blue eyes.” She added: “But when I started working in Hollywood it was weird because of the accent, the body, the attitude and the blonde hair. “They didn’t know where to put me. So it was very hard for me to get a job, and then I put my hair like this [brunette] and immediately I became this hot Latin woman. I love being like this. I like it.” Modern Family returns to screens in the US on Wednesday.
Clint Eastwood has some words of wisdom for Angelina Jolie as she prepares to direct her first feature – make sure she gets enough shut-eye. “My advice for her is to get more sleep than the actors,” the 80-year-old told People at the premiere of his latest film Hereafter at the Toronto International Film Festival. Jolie recently announced she was set to helm a love story set during the Bosnian war that she had written. Eastwood said he was confident the 35-year-old would find success behind the camera. “She’s a very intelligent gal,” the Hollywood veteran said. “I know she’ll do great. I haven’t discussed it with her on this particular occasion, but I know she’ll be tough to stop. She has great a work ethic and she’s very smart. I’m looking forward to seeing what she does.”
