Lothario Russell Brand has said he wants to settle down with new girlfriend Katy Perry and is ready for babies.

The 34-year-old funny man is dating I Kissed A Girl singer Perry, 24, and he admitted he has put his womanising ways behind him.

He said: “There have been times when I have been in the company of prostitutes and they were the most wonderful women in the world.”

But talking about Perry, he added: “She’s lovely. I am living in a different way at the moment.

“Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with the calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years.”

Asked if he is ready to be a dad, he said: “I am, actually. It’s seven years since I took drugs. I’ve made a film. I don’t think I have to fight so much. I think I have grown weary of the carousel.”
