Atonement star Keira Knightley is lined up to be Daniel Craig’s My Fair Lady in a new film adaptation by Joe Wright.

The 24-year-old actress reportedly beat off competition from Scarlett Johansson to land the role of Eliza Doolittle in a new adaptation that will be directed by Joe Wright.

A pal of the 37-year-old director’s said to British newspaper the Daily Telegraph: “Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely.”

Knightley first worked with Wright when she starred in his 2005 movie adaptation of Pride & Prejudice.

It was reported in August that the Pirates of the Caribbean actress had to compete with Johansson, also 24, for the role of Doolittle.

Nanny McPhee star Emma Thompson has written the script for the flick and Bond star Daniel Craig has been lined up for the part of Professor Henry Higgins.
