American Airlines is wasting no time capitalising on a movie involving a sensational George Clooney trying to clock up its frequent flier miles.
American’s vice-president of advertising and communications, Roger Frizzell, said: “American and our people are proud and excited to be part of a film that examines the life of a road warrior, while showcasing the commitment we make as an airline to our busy, frequent travellers.”
He was referring to the new flick Up in the Air, starring Clooney and directed by Jason Reitman, which has already drawn rave reviews for its salty comedy.
The airline is offering the chance to win 700,000 AAdvantage miles, two economy class tickets to attend the movie’s premiere and a $300 gift card.
Frizzell also said: “Working with talented director Jason Reitman and his incredible cast was an opportunity we could not pass up. We hope our customers enjoy watching the movie as much as we enjoyed being involved during its production.”
The movie will be released on Christmas Day.
