With ratings bottoming out, Jon & Kate Plus Eight has done a double take and cut back on the role of Jon.
TLC announced the new reality family show will be titled Kate Plus 8, reflecting the focus on Kate and the kids and the life of a single mother.
Kate Gosselin, meanwhile, reportedly said on her Facebook page that Jon & Kate Plus Eight might not be renewed for a sixth season due to its ratings drop. “With ratings falling, this might be the last season of Jon & Kate Plus 8. I’m not sure yet,” she was reported posting.
The shift follows a hiatus sparked by the couple’s bitter divorce filing. The show’s makers were said to be refiguring the storyline to show a co-parenting theme. But ratings have plunged.
The network in a statement said: “The program will continue to capture the incredible lives of the eight Gosselin children and their family, but will now include a deeper focus on Kate’s role in the family and her journey as a single mother building the next chapter in her life. TLC will continue its exclusive relationship with Jon Gosselin and he will continue to appear on the show, but on a less regular basis.”
Eileen O’Neill, TLC president and general manager, stated: “Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it.”
Nicky Hilton has revealed that neither she or sister Paris were invited to Khloe Kardashian’s recent wedding.
Nicky, who just turned 26, was recently celebrating her birthday at Dusk nightclub at Caesar’s Palace in New Jersey when she made the revelation.
The Hilton sisters were friends with the Kardashians when they were growing up but they failed to receive an invite from Khloe, 25, who recently married LA Lakers star Lamar Odom in Bel Air.
Nicky said: “I wasn’t invited to Khloe’s wedding this weekend, but if I had been I would have stuck to ordering her a gift off her registry – it’s always the way to go.
“None of our family was invited to the wedding.”
Nicky said she has no hard feelings about not being invited and said she is so busy she finds it difficult seeing sister Paris, 28.
She said to website Betty Confidential: “Paris and I get so busy with work, but I have to make a plan to spend time with her when I get home.
“My favourite memories of our childhood birthdays growing up were at Benihana. It’s a chain restaurant, but we loved it and how they cooked your food at the table.”
Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Julianne Hough has said she wants to make a return to the show.
Julianne, 21, already won two seasons of the hit dancing show but is not competing in the ninth season as she wanted to concentrate on her music career.
She will soon be performing classic tracks from The Wizard of Oz with Jennifer Hudson at the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.
Talking backstage at rehearsals, she said to FOX411 she would like to make a return to Dancing With The Stars to dance again.
She said: “I want to come back and dance on the show! My brother, Derek, and Mark Ballas are going to sing with their Ballas Hough Band and I want to come back and dance while they rock out.
“I’m working on hooking that up. When I performed my single on DWTS, they danced for me. Now it’s my turn!”
Julianne said that it’s hard to sit on the sidelines during the latest season, she said: “I am competitive and I do miss DWTS. It’s nice to relax a little and watch everyone else.
“I don’t have to stress out every five seconds to see if my partner’s doing okay! That’s very nice for the time being!”
Superstars David and Victoria Beckham are taking elocution lessons to boost their careers.
Victoria, 35, is reportedly working on softening her accent so Americans can understand her more easily, and her husband David, 34, has been working on his voice to get rid of his monotone style and deepen his voice.
A source said: “David is quite keen to move into TV work when he finally retires, probably after the next World Cup. He’s got the looks and the knowledge, but knows his voice needs work.
“Victoria has also been keen to live up to her name and speak more properly.”
The source added: “She knows she has a very thick accent and is sometimes misunderstood in America.
“She knows being British can be an asset in the States, but not if the Yanks cannot understand what you’re talking about.”
Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien falls for Teri Hatcher – and suffers a concussion.
The Desperate Housewives star tended to O’Brien after he fell during a race with the actress and suffered a painful injury that left him in a stupor.
Conan relived the painful moment that landed him in the emergency room on last night’s show.
O’Brien had been filming a mock race between himself and Hatcher when he fell and suffered a head injury on Friday.
U.S. network NBC was forced to air a rerun as O’Brien was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.
Conan last night played the unseen clip where he is seen slipping, falling backwards and cracking the back of his head on the hard studio floor.
Hatcher can be seen laughing at the fall before seeing an action replay of the slip and urging him to go to hospital.
During his opening monologue, O’Brien said that his concussion received so much coverage, he was planning a second accident with one of Hatcher’s co-stars.
He joked: “Tune in tomorrow when Eva Longoria pushes me down an elevator shaft,”
In a later interview with Drew Barrymore, the actress even presented him with a skating helmet to prevent further injury.
Dancing With The Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne has said that the show is “more than just a dance competition” for her and is a “real journey”.
The reality TV star, 24, recently made her debut on the hit US show and wowed audiences with her waltz, even reducing her own mum, former X Factor judge Sharon, to tears.
She said: “In many ways, I feel like this is more than just a dance competition. It feels like a real journey for me.
“It was the same last year, when I sat down to write my book, Fierce, and realised how much stuff I’d kept inside – I guess I’d never shared the real me with anyone.”
Twilight star Jackson Rathbone has reportedly been injured on the set of upcoming new movie Eclipse.
Rathbone, 24, who plays the role of vampire Jasper in the hit film, is currently filming the third instalment in the Twilight saga, in Vancouver, Canada, and it has been claimed that he was seen with an ice-pack on his hand, and later visited a hospital.
The injury reportedly came after he was rehearsing a scene with 90210 actor Kellan Lutz for the new movie.
It is claimed Jackson later returned to the set and was seen smiling as he continued with filming.
Melrose Place star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz said she was “thrilled” to meet one of the show’s original cast members, Heather Locklear.
Ashlee, 24, plays the role of Violet Foster in the 2009 remake of the 90s TV show.
Heather, 47, appeared in the original TV series and it was recently revealed that she will be making a comeback and will make her first appearance in an episode to air on November 17.
Ashlee said to PEOPLE: “We’re all really thrilled that Heather is coming back! Of course we are – she was kind of the heart of the show.
“It’s been great to have a lot of the original cast, and to have Heather join is really incredible. I’m excited!”
She added: “I’m really looking forward to meeting her.”
Cheeky Gwyneth Paltrow says Robert Downey Jr “loves” being in a love triangle with her and Scarlett Johansson in the new Iron Man film.
As in the original hit film, Paltrow plays Pepper Potts, the secretary – and possible love interest – of Downey’s character Tony Stark.
But this time she has been joined by Johansson, who plays the sexy baddy Black Widow – who would like nothing better than to lure him into her web.
On the set of the sequel, Downey played down reports of the triangle, joking: “Like I would ever have Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson fighting over me?”
Adding that his producer wife is in charge, he said: “All I know is that Susan Downey gets to watch it all on the monitors.”
But with a naughty grin, Paltrow told Entertainment Tonight: “He loves it! Oh my God, it’s his favourite thing when both Scarlett and I are on the set. It’s his favourite day.”
Iron Man 2, which also stars Mickey Rourke and Don Cheadle, is set for US release in May.
Dancing With The Stars contestant Debi Mazar said she was moved to tears by the show’s tribute to Patrick Swayze.
The show’s professional dancers paid homage to the Dirty Dancing actor, who recently passed away after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer, by performing the movie’s finale dance.
A medley was also included in the tribute with songs such as She’s Like The Wind from the 1987 hit film. Debi said: “I really cried backstage watching it.”
She added: “I’m so glad they did this. Patrick Swayze was such a strong, wonderful man and to see him have cancer and fight til the end is a real testament to human strength and the human spirit.
“I know he’s dancing with Michael [Jackson] in heaven watching this. I know Jen Grey and watching Cheryl Burke dance from behind, she really looked like Jennifer Grey. I just started getting teary.”
