Actress Rachel Weisz says Botox “should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen”.
Rachel, 39, will soon be starring in London’s West End in the show A Streetcar Named Desire and says she believes plastic surgery should be ruled out in acting.
She said: “It [Botox] should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen. Acting is all about expression, so why would you want to iron out a frown?”
Rachel lives in New York with her long-term partner Darren Aronofsky and their three-year-old son Henry. She admitted she has never had too much intrusion from the press and paparazzi during her career.
She said: “I have never had a problem, except maybe briefly when I won the Oscar and gave birth to Henry in quick succession.
“Then suddenly everyone was interested, and having those lenses coming up towards you when you’re holding this little bundle in your arms is frightening.
“Sometimes the paparazzi, on the lookout for Tom Cruise who lives nearby, trickle onto my street, take a few pictures of me, and disappear, but I never feel hounded. I go on the subway and I walk Henry to school.”
