Former T4 presenter Alexa Chung is getting her own show on MTV in the US.
The Alexa Chung Show will be a one-hour daily show and will feature celebrity guests and musical performances. It will also use Twitter to allow viewers to interact with the stars in the studio.
It is being billed as the successor to the trail-blazing TRL.
TRL – Total Request Live – was presented live from the channel’s Times Square headquarters in New York by Carson Daly and featured a mix of video countdowns and guests. It ended its 10-year run in November.
Sir Michael Caine has said he was "stunned" by Batman co-star Christian Bale’s angry rant on the set of the new Terminator film.
Sir Michael, 76, recently worked with Christian on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
He said: "That stunned me, because he’s not like that at all. I mean, I’m more like that than he is! You’re liable to get a volley off me if you walk around during my takes."
He added to Britain’s Reveal magazine: "I would never have imagined Christian doing that. It’s completely out of character."
Sir Michael also revealed he once had a foul-mouthed rant at crew on set of a past film.
He said: "I lost my temper on a film years ago. I’m not a very good horseman and I told them that. They put me on this horse that they knew was a killer and it ran away with me for two miles."
He added: "I brought it back at a slow pace and all the crew were laughing, so I started on them and I outdid Christian by about 30 minutes and with more language than he knew."
Sir Michael said he knows what he is going to say when he next bumps into Christian. He said: "I haven’t seen him since, but when I meet him I’m going to say: ‘What the f**k were you doing?’"
Actor Neil Patrick Harris was fired up – literally – as he hosted the TV Land Awards in Los Angeles.
Things heated up for the How I Met Your Mother star after performing a hilarious spoof of famous shows including an impersonation of Baywatch beauty Pam Anderson, himself on Doogie Howser MD and a take-off of reality show Survivor.
Harris caught fire in rehearsals doing the Survivor skit when a smoke pack ignited his tuxedo, according to sources on the set.
Fortunately the star wasn’t seriously injured.
“He just had some welts on his back,” according to a mole.
“He didn’t have to be taken to a hospital or anything like that.”
The pre-taped show, which aired last night in the US, honoured TV shows and stars including Knots Landing, M*A*S*H, Married With Children, Home Improvement, Two And A Half Men, Magnum, PI, ER, Don Rickles and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
It is seldom that you see Ben Affleck all over town without his wife Jennifer Garner or their daughter Violet. However, Ben Affleck was recently spotted sans the “Alias” star or their daughter in tow. The reason, aside from having a new baby in their hands who was born last January, Ben Affleck is playing solo as he is researching at the Wellington Management financial firm for his upcoming movie.
Ben Affleck was sporting the scruffy but still yummy look which was too much of a temptation for the gay community in the area. He was however polite in warding them off. On second thoughts, Jennifer Garner may be busy decorating the new Pacific Palisades home formerly owned by producer Brian Grazer which they reportedly snagged at a price of less than $20 million down—way below the $27 million original listing price. The property has nine bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
Tragic Anna Nicole Smith’s companion Howard K Stern did not enter a plea as he appeared in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday – but his attorney later insisted: “He is innocent.”
Stern and doctor Khristine Eroshevich had their arraignment in the Anna Nicole drug case delayed until May 13 at the hearing.
But Stern’s attorney Steve Sadow read a statement outside the court saying: “He is innocent.
“Let me repeat that. He is innocent.”
Sadow told how Stern plans to fight charges that he unlawfully supplied late pin-up Anna Nicole with prescription medication.
He said Stern will put his faith in a jury to clear his name.
Sadow also insisted Anna Nicole was, “intelligent, strong and street-smart” and “in control of her own life”.
He said: “Anna Nicole made her own choices and decisions.
“No-one told her what to do.”
And Sadow claimed California Attorney General Jerry Brown should be “ashamed of himself” for “using” Anna Nicole to allegedly further his political career.
He said: “He doesn’t care about Anna Nicole Smith.”
Sadow blasted Brown for “maliciously and viciously” labeling Anna Nicole a drug addict.
Stern and Eroshevich are due back in court on May 13, the same arraignment date for the third party in the case, Anna Nicole’s former doctor Sandeep Kapoor.
Sienna Miller has blamed a journalist for the furore that erupted when she nicknamed US city Pittsburgh, ‘Sh*tsburgh’.
While filming the coming-of-age drama, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, set against the backdrop of the gritty Pennsylvania city in the 1980s, the screen beauty was refused entry into a bar because she had no ID.
Then, in an interview with a US music magazine, she made her infamous comment.
But now the 27-year-old actress claims she was simply being sarcastic – and claimed it was a kind of ‘rhyming slang’.
She said: “It was a stupid joke because it rhymes. In the hands of a responsible journalist, humour and sarcasm will be translated appropriately. It was not meant as disrespectful.
“In England, we have great rhyming slang, and everyone spends their day rhyming. But for all the trouble that comment caused, there were many people who were supportive.”
Co-star Peter Saarsgard also defended Miller to the New York Daily News: “If I said that, no one would’ve cared. But a pretty British girl says it, and everyone is ready to pounce. You can like a place and diss it at the same time. Take NYC. There’s garbage in the streets. What other city does that?”
Sales of dog food have shot through the roof in Europe – after two of Hollywood’s top stars ate some on a German TV show.
Marley & Me co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson gamely chowed down on the dog food during an appearance on the talk show Wetten Das.
They tucked into the canine dish after losing a dare while promoting their new hit movie.
Now after the segment recnetly aired, sales of dog food have rocketed, particularly in Switzerland where budget conscious families are opting for that instead of more expensive meat.
A spokesman for supermarket chain Migros said: "It may sound disgusting but dog food is made to human standards and is safe to eat."
The couple will be holding a private ceremony this summer during which they will be renewing their wedding vows. A source had this to say about Pink and Carey Hart’s upcoming ceremony: “They want to have a ceremony at their house in Malibu on the beach at sunset. It will take place in early summer and will be very simple and small, with just their family and a few close friends.” Why do people renew vows they never broke I can’t imagine. Or, if they broke the vows, what’s the point of renewing them? Redemption is not that easy to attain and then again, it’s not like Pink or Carey Hart are in that much need of it.
The actor recently admitted what pair of breasts he considers to be the best in the world. When asked about the matter, Seth Rogen replied: “Who’s that girl who’s famous in England with the biggest breasts in the universe? The one who’s married and they tried to make it and get famous here in America. You know who I mean. Dawn, is it?” Unfortunately, the person Seth Rogen was referring to was actually Katie Price. It’s natural though, how could you expect someone, even Seth Rogen, to remember the name of the woman whom they consider to have the coolest boobs in the world. It’s just not realistic.
Tori Spelling admits she was ‘confused’ by the open letter from her estranged mum begging to see her kids.
The 90210 star has hit back at mum Candy Spelling’s claims she is ignoring her.
Tori said her mother is welcome to see her son, Liam, and daughter, Stella.
“I honestly was confused by it,” Tori said on NBC’s Today Show.
“She is welcome to see her grandchildren whenever she wants to.
“I want her to be a positive influence in their lives and if she is willing to go that extra mile and show that she really wants to be in their lives for the right reason, then I am completely open with that, I always have been.
“She knows she can reach me, that is why I was confused by the public letter. She knows my phone number, my email – it has been the same for 15 years. She knows where I live.
“It took me a long time I think to come to the place I am today, a very confident wife and mother,” she said. “I am proud of the woman that I have become, I have worked very hard at it.
“Growing up my mother and I had a loving relationship we just had an emotionally disconnected relationship, and when I talk about doing things different, that is what I mean.”
