Word is he is not an easy person to shop for. Last year after the holidays he also returned a pile of clothes to Barneys in Beverly Hills and was not happy when they told him he had to return each item separately to the department it came from.
He wants to design clothes for US President-elect Barack Obama:
“I could design something for Obama to go to the club in. But I don’t know if I’m ready for suits and stuff,” The Sun quoted Kanye, as saying. “Fashion is just my love. It’s something that I want to do for the rest of my life. I picked my own outfit out in kindergarten,” he added.
Meanwhile, his New Year resolution is to be nice to the hounding paparazzi.

He made another blog entry to clear up the rumors that he chants to get rid of ghosts and evil spirits.
Kanye writes (in all caps):
“OK, now this is just stupid! Dude, did you read my book?? Do I seem like a chanter??!! Do I even have time to be sitting around doing that??? Why you gotta mess up my vacation with stupid s–0??? You could’ve waited two more days… Haahaaaaa.”
He continued:
“Sidebar: If there’s any parties on New Year’s with my name on it, doooon’t youuuu belieeeeeve it! I’m staying at home for the first time in five years. We did 98 shows this past year!!! I just want to chill, hoop and watch some movies! … And as always… I’m typing in all caps cause I’m lazy not angry!!! Oh, and exclamation points are fun! Hahahaaa!!! (If I had [BlackBerry Messenger], I would make it say I’m typing in all caps cause I’m lazy!!!)”
He must feel so special secure in the knowledge that so many of his fans really care about what he has to say.
He thinks he worked his a** off doing 98 shows, some of the country stars do over 200 dates a year.
Take a peek at Jennifer Lopez’s new fragrance ad for Sunkissed Glow. It was photographed by Peter Lindbergh on the island Islamorada in Florida.
“Sunkissed Glow is a flowery, fruity and sensual scent with notes of orange blossom, waterlilies and passion flowers. It also has the scent of ember, musk and cashmerewood.”
The fragrance goes on sale at European stores in February 2009. So far, no U.S. release date.
The AP is reporting a broken guitar that was owned by late grunge rocker Kurt Cobain has been sold to an unidentified private collector for $100,000.
“Helen Hall, a broker in England, says it’s the second-highest known price for an item of Cobain memorabilia.” The highest was $131,000 at a 2006 auction for his Mosrite Gospel Mark IV guitar.
“The seller was punk rocker Sluggo of The Grannies and Hullabaloo.”
Jacob McMurray, senior curator at Seattle’s Experience Music Project said:
“It’s a really cool-looking guitar because it’s smashed and held together with duct tape and Kurt Cobain wrote on it.”
Sluggo apparently “traded a working guitar for the smashed one during the first U.S. tour of Cobain’s band, Nirvana.”
Nirvana was playing in New Jersey and living hand to mouth like most (non label manufactured) musicians during the early (and often last) stages of their careers when Cobain smashed the guitar on stage and went looking for another one to play at the next gig.
So Sluggo gave him the working one and kept the old one – later lending it to the Experience Music Project – is and now he’s $100, 000 richer.
It always amazes me how much people will pay for someone else’s stuff… especially if it’s junk. That old saying “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” is sooo true.
Scarlett Johansson appeared on NBC’s “Tonight” talk show last Wednesday to promote her new movie, “The Spirit.” She said she’d caught a cold from co-star Samuel L. Jackson, and ‘felt her illness had value because it had been passed down from one celebrity to another.’
Host Jay Leno gave her a tissue, and she blew into it and the announced she would sell it on eBay to raise money for the hunger relief charity USA Harvest. She blew twice, smeared some of her lipstick and mucus on it… and it sold for $5300.00!
Star Magazine is reporting that Miley Cyrus has supposedly ‘demanded’ a raise from her parents. According to them, she has been getting around $100 a week to spend on things like magazines and coffee. Some unknown source told the magazine:
“Her parents take care of all the normal expenses”, but ever since she started seeing 20-year-old model Justin Gaston, her special friend, she’s been spending more of her cash, and she wants her allowance upped to $1,000 per week.
I really don’t think that this little tidbit of gossip is true, as we never hear who these unnamed sources are! Besides, he’s so much older than her, if they are dating, and he is her boyfriend, wouldn’t he be treating her?
She raked in $25 million last year, so a piddly 100 bucks a week seems unreasonable to me!
Ever the diva, Mariah flaunts her assets, even in snowy cold weather! She’s been seen around Aspen in her red Dior boots and matching jacket with her devoted hubby Nick dressed in color coordinated outfits. He at least is bundled up!
The two have been checking out the ritzy Aspen designer boutiques but so far, I haven’t been able to find any pictures of them skiing. I have to say that he at least looks dressed and ready to hit the slopes, he’s even wearing goggles.
She looks like Nick’s mama in this photo, and he looks like her pouting child. For some reason, those boots remind me of feather dusters!
Clay Aiken got his very own caricature from Sardi’s Restaurant this past Tuesday, for his Broadway debut in the musical Spamalot. How nice for him. Receiving a Sardi’s caricature is a big deal on Broadway, so the fact that he got one must mean they feel he really deserves it. Although, this drawing doesn’t really seem to be a caricature at all. Caricatures are supposed to exaggerate some traits but this one looks über flattering.
Aiken told People:
“At the end of the day, Parker is the most important thing of the year, and of my life, without question. Having a son and that type of responsibility is obviously going to be something that I remember forever.”
“I want to spend time with Parker. He’s still uber-dependent,” Aiken says, laughing. “I’m ready for him to start talking. I’m ready for a little action!”

Brian Litrell from the Backstreet Boys told his fans over the weekend that his young son Baylee was sick and had been hospitalized. He had asked for prayers, but had not given the reason for the child’s illness at that time.
Baylee Litrell was released from the hospital this past Saturday, and Brian and his wife have now spoken up about his illness.

Update on Baylee
On Saturday December 20, 2008, Baylee T W Littrell was released from Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Before being admitted Baylee had been treated for or thought to have had strep throat, hand, foot, mouth disease and erythema multiforme. After receiving a biopsy, blood tests, an EKG and 2 echocardiograms, Baylee was finally diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease. We would like to stress A-Typical because Baylee did not have text book symptoms of any of the viruses they thought he had.
Kawasaki Disease causes inflammation in the coronary arteries as well as the walls of the small and medium sized arteries throughout the body. Unfortunately, Baylee’s coronary arteries were affected. He received an IVIG, which is a treatment to bring down the inflammation in his coronary arteries. Baylee will be closely monitored for the next 6-8 weeks by a Pediatric Cardiologist to see if the treatment was effective.
We want to thank every one who prayed for us as well as all of the emails and phone calls. Your love and support means so much to our family. The Hospital Staff were absolutely amazing. They made an extremely difficult time in our lives as comfortable as possible.
We are humbled by the love and compassion that people have for our son all over the world, thank you!

I believe there is a high rate of recovery with treatment if it’s caught early, which it seems to have been. Hope he gets well soon.
Ashlee Simpson has gone back to blonde after leaving a hair salon in West Hollywood on Friday. I was just starting to like her auburn look… oh well. I would guess she isn’t breast-feeding her baby anymore, since I don’t believe one is supposed to get their hair dyed if they are.
USA Weekend recently sat for a chat with her hubby Pete Wentz about being a new daddy to their son Bronx, who is now 4 weeks.
He talked about his love of reading, and what stories he’ll read to his boy:
Growing up, my parents OD’d me on the library, and I was pretty loaded up when it came to children’s books. I definitely can’t wait to read some of my favorites, like “Goodnight Moons,” “The Little Prince” and the “Mr. Men and Little Miss” books. I know that we already picked up the 50th anniversary copy of “Paddington Bear,” which is a great one.”
