Benji Madden and Paris Hilton have broken up, and it seems the relationship took a toll on him. Look at how much weight he lost while they were together. The left photo was taken before they started dating and the picture on the right was taken just this week.
Something seriously is going on with him and it’s not good. Whenever a female celeb loses as much weight as he seems to have, the word ‘anorexic’ is used.
Madonna’s new documentary has told the story of Malawi, an impoverished African nation where 1 million children have been orphaned by AIDS. It is the birthplace of her adopted son David and she is building a school there.
The documentary is called, “I Am Because We Are” and so far has been limited to isolated theater screenings. It will make its TV premiere on Sundance Channel at 9 p.m. EST Monday (World AIDS Day) so that everyone will have a chance to screen it.
The feature-length film was written, produced and narrated by Madonna (directed by Nathan Rissman). President Bill Clinton and Archbishop Desmond Tutu were consultants for the project.
The images displayed on screen at times are dismaying and powerful yet still reflect hope and a remarkable will to survive.
“I had many goals,” said Madonna during a phone conversation from her Manhattan home a few days ago. “I did get to a point where I thought, ‘I’m being overambitious, I’m trying to say too much, I’ll never accomplish it.’ But I feel proud of the fact that I did get to make all my points.”
One of her points that shines through is an insistence that any crisis can come with solutions.
The film makes the suggestion to the audience that each of us can be constructive in our own way:
“If all you can do is live life in YOUR world in a way that shows you are responsible for the people around you, that’s a course of action,” said Madonna. “People can be of service in large ways and small.”
Rockstar couple Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale spent part of the Thanksgiving holiday on a day trip to Coldwater Canyon Park in Beverly Hills with their two adorable boys Kingston, 2, and Zuma, 3 months.
Gavin has a daughter from a previous relationship named Daisy Lowe. She is 19 years old and is the former girlfriend of music producer Mark Ronson, brother of SaMan Ronson special friend of Lindsay Lohan.
Anyways… she recently did a nude photo shoot for Paradis Magazine. A series of black and white shots. Here is one of them, the rest are too risque to post here, but I have to wonder what her daddy Gavin thinks of them?
Earlier in the week, it was announced that No Doubt would be going on tour in 2009. Tom Dumont (guitar, keyboards) just posted this on the official No Doubt forums:
“Good times everyone! We’re so excited to get this going, playing live is something we’ve been loving for about 20 years now, if you can believe it! (since I’ve joined the band anyway). The plan is to keep writing and working on the album simultaneously. You can’t rush creativity sometimes, but as it unfolds I’m certain that 2009 sure is going to be a fun year. Can’t wait to see you all again. Tom”
Axl Rose is accusing Pepper of profiting off the Guns N’ Roses name, after the company’s website crashed during their free Dr Pepper giveaway this past Sunday. The 20 oz. handouts were a promise made by Pepper if “Chinese Democracy” their new CD ever hit the shelves.
Axl’s lawyers are demanding full-page apologies in four major newspapers: the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. They also want an extended period of time to collect on the free pop and payment for unauthorized use of the Guns and Roses name.
UPDATE: In a statement to E! News, a Dr Pepper rep says: “For us, this was a fun giveaway that has always been about the fans, and we’ve taken great steps to fulfill it, including:
• extending the window for the giveaway from 24 to 42 hours • Adding a toll-free line to handle consumer requests for the coupons • Setting up an interactive voice recorder to accept coupon requests This was one of the largest responses we have ever received for a giveaway, and we’re happy we were able to satisfy the thirst of so many Dr Pepper fans.”
Mariah Carey was asked about the rumour that she is pregnant with hubby Nick Cannon’s baby when she guested on the Ellen Degeneres show today.
Very quickly into the sit down interview Ellen said point blank :“People are saying that you’re pregnant.”
Mariah responded by saying, “No, that’s ok.”
Bringing out a bottle of champagne, she offered Mariah a glass and she quickly refused. Ellen, still trying to get to the truth, then tried pouring Mariah a glass of champagne suggesting they could have a toast to celebrate her not being pregnant.
“Oh my goodness,” Carey replied. “I can’t believe her. Why would we toast to that? How about to the future?”
Mariah then pretended to drink the champagne, (not fooling anyone, least of all Ellen) and said it was “too early” for her to drink.
“I only drink after 3 p.m.,” she said.
If she is pregnant and in the early stages, it’s understandable that they may want to keep that information amongst themselves. It’ll become obvious fairly soon if she is. The paps will be on baby bump watch and if there is any sign of a growing belly, they’ll get a photo ASAP.
Beyonce makes an appearance on the Tyra Banks Show wearing her cyborg looking glove on tomorrow’s (November 26th) show. In this picture she is showing Tyra where the ring should go after performing her hit song, “Singles Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”.
Beyonce, 27, apparently gets a big surprise wedding gift on the show as well as also performs “If I Were A Boy” off her new album I Am… Sasha Fierce.
In a recent interview that is in the latest issue of Giant, she talks about getting married to Jay-Z where she says she doesn’t have a fantasy view of marriage. That’s because she’s seen her parents, Matthew and Tina Knowles, go through difficult times during their marriage but managed to work things out.
Says Beyonce:
“My parents are tighter now than ever, but they’ve been through it all. There were times when they were together, times when they were apart. I learned that it’s a lot of hard work, that it’s more than a dress.”
Britney Spears has left LA to fly to Frankfurt Germany to promote her upcoming album, Circus which drops December 2. It must be K-Fed’s time to have the children for the holiday.
Spears is traveling with an entourage of close friends and family members, including her father, Jamie, and manager Larry Rudolph. Here she is dressed in a stylish brown fedora. Witnesses say she was holding her dad’s hand at the airport.
TMZ is reporting that last Friday she was in court to discuss with the Commisioner about the conservatorship and she apparently was complaining about her father being too strict. She complained to the point where she was called into chambers with one of the lawyers where they had a 45 minute discussion.
After a brief visit to Germany, she is expected to appear on the French program, Star Academy, and then on Simon Cowell’s X Factor in England before flying back to the U.S. next week. She is scheduled to go on a worldwide tour in the spring of next year.
Larry Rudolph, who was Britney’s manager for a long time before he was ‘fired’ by her just before she spiraled out of control, is back on her payroll. He sat down for an interview with the LA Times and talked about working with her and about her latest documentary. When The Times asked him if he had to think about working with her again, was there any hesitation on his part he had this to say:
“I’ve known this girl for over half her life, since she was 13. We have a very close friendship, but it’s sort of hard for me to explain my relationship with her. It’s a friendship, it’s a business relationship, there are some paternal aspects to it. We get along very well. I understand her better than everyone other than her immediate family. There’s a shorthand we use in terms of dealing with each other that just works. The bottom line is I think she’s amazing. I love her. She’s been a big part of my life, and I’ve been a big part of her life. Being a part of this new phase in her career is something I was very open to.”

Kevin Jonas poses for the magazine that just honored him with spot in their 2008 Sexiest Men’s List. People Magazine had to do some convincing to reassure him that he was the chosen one out of the brothers.
He just celebrated his 21st birthday in Cabo San Lucas a couple of weeks ago with friends and family, talked a little about the confidence factor he claims he always had:
He shared, “I can walk into a room and make friends with anybody. That confidence level is something that I have.”
